Please read the folowing:

Well guys as Mr ******* has explained 2009 GM vehicles onwards will only be able to be programmed via an MDI. One thing he doesn’t point out for those of you thinking of purchasing an MDI is that MDI works via Tis 2 web
Which is internet based to a factory/head office server.
If you purchase an MDI around ?3k you will then require a license Euro 3650 for 365 days or 4 Euro 1 hour, 30 Euro 1 day, 100 Euros 7 days, 300 Euros 30 days This will only open up part of the features, to be able to do SPS and security you will have to attend the GM academy training courses
TIS Class Room training; Course SVEL 61 (Class Room Training)
Tech2 WBT; Course SVEL 32b - Web based Training
Relevant to SPS and security also at a hefty cost.

Now for those of you thinking you’ve had a good run but you won’t invest in the future MDI, Tis web and courses. But you will happily carry on using your old faithful tech 2 on vehicles up to 2009 for SPS and security.
Well here’s the really, really bad news NO YOU WONT.

As the existing stock of GM Engine controllers depletes, the manufacturers such as Delphi, Siemens etc obviously have to replace them.
When these manufactures make a new replacement ECU whether it be for a 2009 Insignia or a 1999 Astra, Vectra etc the new replacement module has a new Supplier Hardware number, these Supplier hardware numbers have always been added into the TIS system database. One of the reasons why the dealers had a monthly TIS disc so they could always programme a newly manufactured controller.

Now all recently manufactured controllers have new supplier hardware numbers but the database for the supplier numbers is no longer on the TIS disc not even the final disc for SPS disc 91. All future Supplier numbers are, you guessed it on Tis2Web.

So this means that if you purchase a recently manufactured ECU for say a nine year old vectra you will not be able to SPS programme it with your tech 2.

P.S. The emulator will work using the V91 disc or earlier unless as stated the HW ID has changed on the component you are fitting, but bear in mind any update will most likely be out of date and only cause you issues later on. (the emulator only allows sps programming from discs V.91 and earlier it DOES NOT bypass Tis2Web)

Depends on the emulator/creator, the one I know that does work was designed specifically for Vauxhall I'll try get hold of it's creator to see if that one works on Saab, failing that I'll ask the person who gave him the source files used to create it, or maybe he'll post here as I know he visits this board.

P.S. My guess is if the Saab TIS disc contains the calibration files then the emulator might work, but it's a big "might".

yes the eflay dongle should work.So much talk about whats happening with tech 2 ,usually coming from people who dont use it.I happen to use both tech 2 and tis2web,and most of what is written is in fact incorrect.I fitted and programmed a new controller a few weeks ago that was manufactured many months after the june 08 software i was using.

I have tested dongle emulator on opel (01/2008) and saab Tis ( 01/2007) and both work perfectly installing driver first and then overwriting both files in program files/cosids/bin and have successfully updated my Tech 2 (only have 10mb pc card at this time) and carried out enable programming, not sure why its not working for you Patrian ! Are you maybe running 64 bit O/s?

Sounds like your PC or Laptop doesn't have a parallel port (printer port)

I haven't tried this software dongle but it sounds exactly the same as the one I have which emulates a parallel port dongle

I just ordered a TIS2000 GM NOA dvd from a seller on ebay. Its probably a copy and the price was to high I guess.
My plans are to bye a Mongoose GM interface and use it with my XP pro laptop.
I have couple of questions, and I hope someone can shed some light on this.

About the dongle emulator, which files that’s offered in this thread should I use (works best)?
Can I use XP sp3?
Has someone else here used Mongoose J2534 to reprogram a GM module?

I have a 2005 Chevy Suburban that I’m going to add a oem trans temp gauge to the cluster, and I guess I have to change some settings in the cluster module.
I also want to fix a problem with the memory seat without taking the car to a shop with a tech2.

I think nobody knows it....but all sps files ans security acces are already IN the dvd from global tis2web.

I can know...i use the global tis2web ( after install and getting activation ) WITHOUT ANY internetconnection....

I walk from car ( with tech II ) to the to my desktop or laptop or whatever..and download the files into the tech II. I can use Pass true with tech II and that works the same.

For the MDI the same story.
I have no internetconnection...and can do all programming.

Just that you should know. !!!!!

I too am having problems getting security access dongle to work with TIS2000 2008 version. I have the 2007 version as well, and no go. The dongle emulator does not properly install or recognise a file in the windows drivers folder. Anoooying haha.

The database engine gets corrupt some times, try to reinstall TIS.

3) Use the little things proivded p2. If it says "registry access error" just don't mind
4) Copy the 2 files like explained in the readme.txt
5) Start TIS 2000
6) Use the SPS functions and enjoy ;-)

If you manually copy the two files, your SPS will work perfectly without a hardkey. Some are distributing an executable which often won't rewrite the SPS installed files in C:\windows\system32

IF you buy Tech2 you can use those:
Opel TIS2000 (107 Version is the Latest) for FULL info.
Opel GlobalTIS (20 Version is the Latest) for Access Security & Programming.

Tech2 CAN NOT to "Hack" your Odometer!!!!!
This it can be ONLY when the Km's 99 and DOWN and ONLY for 2 Times!!!!!

Here's some install instructions: It will work w\SP-3

CAUTION XP Pro is the Only Supported Operating System!

When Installing TIS 2000 select the Green Dongle that is one to the very left of the 4 choices of security keys and Add it.
Please choose English and NAO and Install

Insert Data Disk and double click the Tis 2000 Icon on the desktop
When tis 2000 opens it will find the new data disk and update the system.


Next Put the Key disk into the drive.

Highlight the Goodkey.ssi and the ssipddp.sys and copy them to windows clipboard or hold the control key and hit the letter c on the keyboard.
Nothing will happen when you do this but that is normal.

Next right click on the start button and choose explore
Browse my computer and locate the windows folder and select it.
Next browse windows folder for the System 32 folder and select it.
Next Browse for the Drivers folder and select it.
Next paste the 2 files above into the drivers folder or hold the control key and hit the letter V on the keyboard.
It should ask you to overwrite the files and please say yes to all
Reboot system.



Put in the <system root>\system32\drivers folder.
Reboot. This is a software key.
Example C:\windows\system32\drivers
Over write any existing files.
Make sure you reboot the PC
Enjoy!

If this doesn?t work make sure your printer port in the bios is on and set to ECP.

Also make sure if you are running a Pentium 3 processor you need the patch that is on the key disk. Do not use the patch if you have any other type of processor.

Also if you are installing this on a laptop make sure you have a serial port on it as it won?t work through your network card.

Also if you are using an AMD athlon processor you could also have issues, this is made for intel systems only.

This is a stand alone program made to run on a stand alone pc with no other programs running so make sure all TSR?s are not running when trying to install.
Also Disable your antivirus.

to do a clean uninstall:

TIS Uninstall Procedure:

Uninstall TIS 2000 First by choosing start programs TIS 2000 uninstall.

Let it uninstall

Reboot system


Right click on the start and go to Explorer.
Find you C: drive
Find the c:\programfiles\cosids and delete the whole cosids folder.


Go to Start then RUN type REGEDIT hit enter
Click on HKEYLOCALMACHINE then SOFTWARE then Delete the folder called GM.
If there are other gm folders leave them alone.

Click on START then RUN and type SYSEDIT Go to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and look for a file that says SETPATH=%PATH COSIDS\PROGRAMS\COSIDS OR something close to this. If you find it, click just in front of the first letter of the SETPATH and type REM then hit the space key once. Then save and exit.

Click on Start and Search (or find files or folders) on the c drive and type in COSIDS*.* and hit enter
Delete any COSIDS files that are here.
Make sure you are searching the c: drive.

Empty the Recycle bin

Reboot the PC

Reinstall TIS 2000

For Mongoose setup:


1) Click on the configuration drop-down menu and select IO
Management
2) On the IO Management screen, click DRIVER to add J2534
support to TIS. In the INSTALL DRIVER box, type or browse to
c:\program files\cosids\bin\j2534.dll and click INSTALL. This
will install the driver and bring you back to the IO management
screen.
3) On the IO Management screen, click ADD to add the new
interface. For the LOGICAL NAME type ?Generic Pass Thru? and for
Driver choose ?J2534 Pass Thru Driver?. You must type the LOGICAL NAME exactly as shown with
a single space between words and capital G, P, T. If you mistype even one character or miss a space it
will not work.
4) On the IO Management screen select 'Generic Pass Thru', click PROPERTIES and choose a
specific J2534 device. In the DEVICE NAME list choose YOUR J-2534 device. Return to this screen
if you want to change to another J-2534 device later.
5) Close I/O management and choose Service Programming
System. Use the new GENERIC PASS THRU option as your
diagnostic interface.


If you have a P-3 machine you need this patch only install on a P-3 (see .zip file)

If you do not have a lpt port you are S.O.L.

if the hardware number isnt recognised, start a reflash procedure on original ecu but switch ecu's before you hit the "do-it" button. It works as long as it is a REAL equivalent replacement.

I have installed TIS 2000 NAO (TIS2000 NAO 11/2006) and I have no problem to update Tech2 with GM software.

I have problem to update calibrations into Chevrolet Trailblazer 2004 for Transfer Case module. I did following steps.

1. Update Tech2 with GM software.
2. Connect to vehicle Tech2.
3. Select menu item 2. Special functions.
4. Download to Tech2 vehicle data.
5. Connect Tech 2 to PC.
6. Select module programming.
7. Read data from Tech2. In result TIS showing correct VIN taken from Tech2.
8. Select TCM module replacement.
9. And in moment when software and callibrations have to be uploaded to Tech2. I see only screen blink and I see next menu item "Select module for programming".

Do you have any idea or may be I have to install older version of TIS to perform this operation?

IF you talking about Opel - Vauxhall = NO any USB Dongle, NO any Dongle "Pill", just & only you need:

Opel - Vauxhall GlobalTIS
(Off-Line SPS, Security Access, S/W Download to 32 MB Card, etc...)

I need Suzuki for TIS 2000. North America (if makes a difference). I have an option for it but when enter, there is the same menu for all other crap.
Running a 2007 TIS 2000. Or maybe it is hidden in this menu? I`m tired of waiting to see coverage by writing it to the Tech2 tool.

So far I haven`t have any problems with my Clone (hehe) even when bought, the seller sad it is orig,,,,,, but never did or even if did then don`t remember, SPS (programming ECU, etc.)
Just 3-5 days ago I had to buy 2 day $55 subscription from GM to program ECU on Chevy Malibu, because my Software hangs at the downloading (to the Tech2 an update file for the VIN) screen with no answer......
I`m trying to get some support from the seller.
Installed it on another computer with the same issue
So, now I did the Tech2 connection test from within TIS2000 window and it shows me that I don`t have a driver :( for it. Didn`t try it on another mashine yet, no time to play around too much
Used Clone with the subscription to program the ECU and from the second try it worked!

Do you mean the ethernet looking one or where the diagnostic cable comes out of? All mine work. Issue with the drivers, etc or/and with Tis2000. I had to restore system back in time twice to make it see Tech2

To get a clone working properly you need to replace the communications cable supplied by the chinese with a regular TP(cat 5) network cable and a PCMCIA Linear 5/12v flashcard. Cards supplied from china is not the correct type and will not be programmed in the Tech2 :(

I had issues on a Win XP Sp3 machine as well, could not connect. Had to go back to Sp2!
GlobalTis is also working a lot better than Tis2000 :)

I've moved to Australia from the UK and now struggolling to get my tech2 become holden. I've been told no Global tis for holden yet and tis2000 v96 is the best solution, but so far i can't get the dongle work on it. I've got saab and opel tis they all work fine with the emulated dongle but V96 just doesnt. It doesnt even give me the choice between dongles.
Also when i set it to Holden it shows the Aussie holdens in the wiring diagramm but they all greyed out, only the europens can be viewed.
Anyone crack this before???

Also is anyone has a working link for suzuki tis?? coz the one was posted here previously is not working.

I have problem with registry error when i try to install the driver to sytem 32, says driver is not running and i get problem with connecting tech 2 with tis. Sometimes works and somtimes it don't...

I'm also wanting the fix for Holden if it's possible.
My mate says it works the old school way using the Tech2 to read the unit on the car first but it definitely doesn't let you choose Holden with PassThru.
Can usually get around that by choosing another make with the same engine etc.
