Just wondering if anyone can help me with putting XP on the Acer Aspire One. It`s the 512 mb Ram 120 gig version, currently running Linux OS.
I have what I think is a working copy of XP and I have set the netbook to boot from a DVD external drive.
It is prompting me to delete the C: Partition to allow the install of XP. Is this OK to do, and is there a possibilty if the XP does not install properly , that I might brick the thing?
If the install did go wrong , would I be able to use the Recovery Disc to go back to Linux, bearing in mind that I have the unit set to boot from an external DVD drive?
Thanks in advance for any info , that may help me.

hough I do understand that ram is cheap nowadays and you are always better having more was just letting him know you could run it on 512

as I couldn't get the LAN or WLAN to work after loading the XP, once drivers installed from Acer and XP disc, rebooted a few times, all eventually OK!
