Hi,just wanted to add my experiences I had with trying this if it will help.I was trying to flash completely bricked openbox s11 after satmeter or hot coax killed it??Anyhow I was using the usb to serial method as i didnt have proper com port.I spent a whole day 10 hours trying to get it to flash with no luck.Tried next morning again with no expectations just for curiosity and flashed straight off and the no ch display came on front panel and knew it was back from dead.My tips from this are that it probably best using when computer is cool with no other programs running. Also for peoples getting the sync stbs please reset message dont think this is an error cos when it worked I got that and then a little "done" graphic comes up and it starts dl fw and flashes. When I pressed connect I switched box on straight away to flash successful. With the usb to serial It worked with leaving the assigned com port that the adaptor chose which was com 3 instead of changing. Also I fiddled around with the settings on the disc that came with the usb serial adaptor fro windows xp.Like said its a matter of perseverance with all this.Flashed s11 with s10 fw and working fine.

Default I have a totally bricked Openbox S16 please help

A friend of mine brought me this box(Openbox s16 HD PVR) for a repair and he told me that he bricked it while upgrading software. It is totally dead nothing on display.
There is no connection to RS232 with few different loaders.
The voltages inside are OK, the cable I'm using is 100% OK tested on few different boxes.
Please advise, any kind of JTAG procedure on this boxes?
    Thanks.

    Default S11 Bricked

    Hi
I have a S11 with the same problem, tried all the different ideas suggested on the forum about 12 firmwares but still wont flash,
swapped power supplies with another box and power supply ok, just seems some people have more luck than others,
mine S11 is now redundant, gave up

but keep trying in the end you may get lucky
