Hi to all!!
How to test Voltage regulators from example from Ford Mondeo 1.8 tdci with 3 pin conector?

1) check battery voltage
2) start engine and re-check
3) remove 3 pin plug and check again

clear fault codes with diagnostic tool if output checks out OK

The "smart" alternator will work as a standard alternator if you remove the 3 pin plug. (genuine one only NOT spurious)

One of the wires to the three pin plug breaks give them a pull test.

IF YOU WANT TO CHECK THEM OUTSIDE OF THE CAR.......LIKE A SPARE PART.........YOU CANT........!!!!ON THE CAR.....
1 CHECH BATTERYS VOLTAGE
2 START THE CAR AND TEST AGAIN....IF THE REGULATOR IS GOOD YOU MUST HAVE 13.8 TO 14.5 (DEPENDING OF THE CAR)
