3rd option is to open radio and read TMS370 processor. (X-Prog)

2 reasons, one: is your RS232 is not genuine (Driver issues) and two: it's not a GM0500 radio,
it has issues with some GM1500 radio's

try using CarProg in the car also

Only true RS232 will work, not a USB cable, must be a true RS232.

both RS232 cables are good and it worked before and there was no different codes
I read a lot of info on the DK that 4.8 version have same problem with different codes anad is full of bugs and the 4.7 version is better ..

Hello, I have this 1995 Opel Omega B where (a long time ago) the original radio cd player died. For many years a drove around with a AliExpress radio giving nasty sound.

Now I am trying to get a model correct radio cd player again. I've found one, but I cannot get it working. I know the drill about entering 4-digit codes and having 10 possibilities. I already used 8 lives .... :-(

I tried all possible codes, including the one received with the radio, including one written on the radio, including the original one for the old (dead and many years ago destroyed) radio, including some kind of 4-digit security code which goes with the car.

None of them were accepted. And that's how I ended up with only 2 more lives to go.

I've read something about displays and radios being paired/married, but I hope this doesn't count for a 1995 Opel Omega B. I wouldn't know how and/or with what code to divorse my display from a (dead and many years ago destroyed) radio.

So, my last option is finding a correct code for the radio in my hands and hoping I can get it to work with my (original, never changed) display.

That's what I call I speedy reply. :-) Thanks. I believe i have to wait 320 minutes on SAFE 2. So it will take a while before I can try. But I'm already happy I have another number which I can try. I'll let you know how it ends. Many thanks already.

Update: what I also learned today is that, after a 320 minutes wait, the counter for waiting starts again when you (not yet enter the code and) turn of the radio. Turn the radio on again and 2 SAFE starts with a new waiting for 320 minutes. That programmer must have had fun when he wrote that code. I bet - if he's still alive - he's still having fun reading the posts in this forum every morning when he wakes up.
