First of all my pc spec is as follows:
Gigabyte p67a-ud4-b3 mobo
I5 2500K processor
8gb corsair 1600mhz ram
850w psu

My ram is split in 4 2gb sticks, was having issues booting into windows after upgrading bios to latest version therefore tried booting with one stick of ram, turned out the ram was not the issue. Now when I replaced the ram it is not detected, tried adding a stick at a time and each in different slots but no luck, only 2gb of ram is detected. I know it's not detected as it shows in bios, also windows wont load, it says there may have been a recent hardware change (the ram) at my wits end here, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try reseting the bios
You may clear the CMOS values by removing the battery:
1. Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Gently remove the battery from the battery holder and wait for one minute. (Or use a metal object like a screwdriver to touch the positive and negative terminals of the battery holder, making them short for 5 seconds.)
3. Replace the battery.
4. Plug in the power cord and restart your computer.

Thanks for the advise, I did try this yesterday, didn't seem to do anything, I left the battery out for around 5mins, it doesn't look like the cmos values were cleared - the profiles which I saved were still there, I think I need to reseat the jumper, once I find out what it looks like lol
