Hi
I bought a new Sapphire Radeon 6870 HD 1GB card to for my PC today. I have registered to your site so you should be able to find my details.
I had a Nvidia 9600GT previously, I removed the drivers & installed the new card, When I install the drivers for the Radeon & reboot my machine it freezes at the starting windows page. If I then reboot in safe mode & remove the drivers & restart the PC boots up. Can you please help me as to where i'm going wrong. I been reading on this it could be there are conflicting drivers causing the issue.
My operating system is Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate. MY power supply is 600W. My motherboard is a Asus P5K SE/EPU.
Can you give me a idiots guide to resolve this issue.
Any help is appreciated
thankz

basics checked?
cables checked no faulty wiring
or anything pluged during
bootup
ok
remove drivers fro your card for the moment
clean your registry
ccleaner
link is here
CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner)
then reinstall your drivers
now shut it down
open your case
check your ram
make sure there all sound pull them check them one at a time so you know they work.
check your psu *do you have another one to compare to*
sometimes they can cause problems for cards depending on their load
when idle and full and sometimes it happens also when the psu is not
a quality build.
check your hard drive
has there been any noises from your hard drive or heat?
check for overheating sometimes they get to the temps of like 60 when they turn off but i doubt thats the case
its problery your psu i think
hope you get it fixed :)

If you had no issues with your previous card and it works ok without the drivers then it doesn't sound like a hardware issue. Go to Sapphires' website and see if there are newer drivers for that card and try them.
If it is a driver conflict read this (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=169555). Get Driver Sweeper here (http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html), the downloads at the posted link are corrupted.
