Hi i was just looking for some help if possible regarding the f3 box, i have been and brought a box and it was all set up in the shop the man told me i would just have to go home and plug it in and it would be good to go, well i done as he said once i got home and i connected to sky uk satelite ! how ever i was not picking up any of the basic channels bbc1, itv etc..how ever i was picking up all the sky sports etc, i was getting frustrated so i restored my box to factory settings and then re-ran a search using astra satelite which again picked up all my basic channels but now all my sky channels are scrambled i am not sure if i have done something wrong when restoring it, and have no idea on how to re-pick up the skyuk satelite i am at a complete loss and any help would be great thank you guys :) female in distress

Hi
Well if you have reset the box then you have lost the magic file that gets you the $ channels. You will have to contact the seller.

Hi
In future do a backup of that all important "magic" file and also a backup of the whole firmware then you can mess with box.
As it stands without a backup there is nothing you can do.
If you hadnt defaulted the box to factory settings but just rescanned for channels you would have been ok.
On a fixed dish you would be just searching the one satellite sky uk on 28.2 degrees.

Hi
Yep you would do a backup via usb. I am puzzled why you were not getting the basic channels though.
Maybe one or two channels had moved since he set box up but for you not to get all basic channels is puzzling to me.
Did it have a favourites bouquets or just one long list of channels like you got now.

Hi no there was no favourites list when i got the box just a long list and most of them was scrambled or very poor signal like they kept freezing and was going out of time and there was a lot of names, so i thought by doing a multi scan i would then get it all but that obviously never worked as i then lost all my sky channels it has totally scrambled my brain lol

Hi
Well the damage has been done now, lets hope seller resets your box.
Make sure your cable connection, internet connections etc are all good and make backup of box before messing with anything.
There is channel lists on the forum that you can try after, that has favourites and channels sorted for you.
I have a list in the red stickies that works with an f3 and is up to date to a few days ago, you would just have to rename the favourites.
Of course you will need to do a bit of reading so you know what you're doing and if you get stuck then post your problem and Im sure someone will help or give us a shout and I'l try and help if I can.
For now Im gonna tuck myself in as Im knackered and you do the same to "descramble" your brain for your next challenges thats gonna be coming:)

Is an F3 easy to setup and does it work well with a Bridge?
