Hi guys

Can someone help pls just got starview 4 box downloaded the super box firmware connected it onto my digital tv scanned the channels automatically. I only get the local channels all the the freeview channels has disappeared. I'm i doing something wrong can someone help pls.

have you done menu, 1570, keycode on?then press default,then back to 511..ynwa

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have tried to factory set .... install but could go any further. When I go to menu I get the usual ... intallation to Usb. I enter 1570 but nothing happens.-- Where is the secret menu??? Can some one help please.

if you only have the free to air software on the box the secret menu is not available, have you loaded the latest firmware

the robbers want 400 euros for their box

dont think so.btw,what do you mean by how does it turn off?
latest f/are is 1.07, has been for months. when things go awol, try menu,1570, hit default(make sure keycode is on), then back to slyspts... ynwa

I'm out there on June 2nd, back on June 9th ! Will let you know how I got on. I bought one recently and am about to take it over.
Having played about with the box at home (I'm not in a cable area) I don't think the auto-scan will help as it's looking at the specific frequency ranges and other settings used in UK and Eire. I need to collar a resident, play with their box, note all the frequencies of the English channels then input them all manually in my box. If the channels are FTA then it should work. If they are scrambled then we are stuffed. The firmware update mentioned on this forum seems only to apply to UK and Eire. Unless someone tells us otherwise, I don't think it will help.

kristy if u want the instruction manual ..get on to ur supplier they shud send u out ..if u want instructions how to flash ur box with the lastest firmware so u can view the dollar channels ie all the channels available......well u can get a tutorial in the downloads section on this site in the starview part ...u ll need winrar to un zip the tutorial ( if u havent got winrar) u can also find in the downloads part under the p c part ..........if u read thro the threads all the answers r there ...if u get stuck ,,ask theres plenty of good peeps to help

depends did yo rescan some times they change transponders

try a factory reset and remeember to turn the keycode n default back on

Goto System Setup
Sytem Information
And look at s/w version

Post back what it says here.

model id- c500
s/w version- 1.06
boot version- b-11
date- dec 10 2008.

i am a first time buyer of one of these boxes and have no clue what to do next please help.

factory reset .....goto menu on remote...goto system set up...>< got factory default<> put 0 0 0 0 code in press ok...box super logo cums up followed by language ..choose english..ok...do a automatic scan choose ur local cable provider eg ntl telwest or wat ever....scan,,,,,,,,,wait till scan finished....takes about two or three minutes,,,,,dont forget to turn keycode on....goto menu press 1570 on remote turn keycode on < > then turn default on and exit to sly sports wait for it to update takes about a minute then u shud be ok ............read the threads all the answers r there

kirsty 1.07 is the lastest but i think 1.06 shud still be ok ...have u turned the keycode on ..... press menu on remote ...press 1570 on remote ..goes to secret cas menu....turn keycode on by pressin < > on remote ..press default on remote ,,,exit 3 times to sly sports and wait till it updates ...takes a min or two ..then u shud be ok
