Hello everyone. I am trying to read the FRM module with vvdi prog and it seems like it is trying to read but at the Eng it gives an error. It say something like " not correct frequency" I'll find the picture and post it. I have not touched the wires length. Has anyone seen a problem like this???????
It should read no prob. Look on the board for the occilator and read off the frequency and set it in the programmer. I had no luck with this tool properly working with frm. I Use Xprog

Mine is a frm3. Vvdi prog gives an error for frequency. I have contacted the vvdi rep. but no response yet. Planning to return and buy xprog instead. I have not touched the length of the wires.

This programmer is for pcf only but i make some test when i have time

Something is wrong with db25 connectors from adapters. After use they are getting very thin and will not make contact with programmer.
If someone have this problem, just enlarge connectors from db25 using a sharp pin.

Maybe this is off topic....I had some BMW Comfort Access Locked Keys...I used VVDI PROG to renew....at least I think I did...it said successful... I think it works...but just checking if anyone else has renewed E Series keys...and no issues...I thought originally vvdi prog was not updated to do it...but maybe now It is....I renewed 6 keys...all said successful just have not tested yet. Any input always helps...thank you again.

they will work as normal remote keys, because if you want to renew comfort acces keys you need dumps for CA keys...

compare the the ecu shape withe the VVDI prog diagram,if same,try to read

friend,i think you directly select the option: 4-IMMOBILIZER-BCM2,but this option only available for 3379 or 3381/3634 currently,the pflash size 384KB.
if you want to get 3380 type 512KB,you can select 2-MCU-V850-D70F3380,same connection diagram as before on your PCB.
we also will add 3380 option on immo option.(they all Dflash same size,Pflash different.you can check each type memory size on MCU-V850ES diagram)

So do I connect the ECU reflash cable and connect the Boot pin and then read? Will it safely read info or will it erase something from the ECU?

yes the cable is upgraded to v3 it came last week it was made already from the factory/supplier, when i was testing the machine it once read but now i want to do the actual work it cant its just giving the error for one week now

Vvdi prog ver 4.6.0.> Airbag > Ford > escort _srs. (The name is not well written)
Need to remove...

yes...you are wrong :listen: with VVDI Prog you can read 2005 or highest 2006 year....almost all from 2006 have NEC and sure all from 2007 have NEC only yet ;)

Nor write , or reset , operation gives error tried on 3+ different keys with pcf7941 same result . Adapter is ok (checked 0 ohm resistor like in picture) . And if solder wires incorrectly it gives error , that chip not responding .

I got some money to spent and is thinking to expand my services to BMW (EWS & CAS 1/2/3 - may be not for the latest CAS yet).. and is looking for a programmer. I already have Tango for starter.. do you guys think Tango + VVDI Prog is a wise choice and enough for the job i'm planning to cover (spare key adding and all key lost)? I was told that for EWS 1/2 i may need AK90 as well because VVDI Prog can't read it?

I have read the thread from first page to the end, but since i'm not a practitioner yet in this auto brand, thus my knowledge is not as good as you guys, i'm afraid i may end up buying the wrong device. So, some advices from you guys will be helpful and much appreciated.

Should i go for VVDI Prog or Orange basic (without Immo HPX) ? Or may be there is another option you guys can suggest me?

sorry for the late answer, i was a week away.
I tried also diverent volts if you mean the +3v from the cable (red one) i tried that also..

Lucky, the PCF is not dammaged, and operates normaly

There was also someone asking of snapshot pictures, but since i updated the software, the logs are gone, and don't have the remote here anymore

I made pcf reseting with vvdi prog on allot of remotes. It does erase, no problem. It writes no problem.
Thumb's up for the tool. Working good.
Only that you need a good dump for the pcf.

Yes I read it successfully. I read it because AVDI killed it writing VIN. I replaced the unit so wanted to try reading the old one and see if I could recover it. You don't need to erase anything. Read it. Make changes. Write it back. Only point of unlocking it would be if you want to read and write it with some other tool that cannot bypass security without erasing it.

The changes I wanted to make was to erase it. AVDI killed it but I can not find any dumps anywhere to revive so I wanted to erase first and go from there. As I say I could have manually changed all bytes to FF leaving 1ff0f 0xfe but I was interested to see if the erase command would do this or not. I found out it does not.
So now that vvdi prog does not read it; How should I read and write the contents of this chip? I have tried to remove but even when hot enough to lift legs it seems the chip is stuck to the board somehow!

I have just tried. No read, no write. The chip will return correct ID c102 but no read or write.
Maybe this could be looked at for future versions? I cant see anybody wanting to erase and lock the chip like this, at least not without warning maybe?

errors: "Device error, please check whether the chip connection have short circuit, if connection is right connect 12v adapter and try again."
and if i try again i just get this: "device error please check USB driver"

i tried to read xc2765-72 as 2365-72 as its same file size and read it successful
couldn't try to write as i have to give item back

X-Horse should consider adding the remote renew functions into the VVDI PROG. People bought the PCF79XX adaptors for renewing keys and you failed to add more keys besides the 2 BMW Models. This is unfair. I see many people bought the adaptors with the expectation that you will add more remotes but instead you decided to market your VVDI KEY TOOL and leave this function from the VVDI key prog.
Don't do this to your loyal customers. Add these key database to your VVDI PROG also.......

Totally agree! I also bought the adapter with hope that there will be more remote renew options in the future but therefore unnecessary VVDI KEY TOOL was born.......
