Before you update to version 5.0, you may need to try to update to version 4.5

i make the update yesterday. all works good. thank you bram. My version have all authorisation, but when i buy my xprog, micronas was inside.
I thing they make the update, to destroy our clones after some token.. i hope not...
This with firewall is a good idea, because when tmt see this bug they will destroy our devices with automatic updates(bugfix).

I've just downloaded V5.0 2010.04.26 from TMT and then downloaded the V5.0 2010-04-26 from bram380's post #186. They are different:

I suppose bram380's V5 would be the one to go with although I think I might wait a while longer.

Yes but the scripts available will remove any hwid and other checks.

Although yes it take someone who knows what they are doing if you want to fully unpack it or even make a loader.

Having a crack / solution for Winlicense is not the issue. At the point of software install and hardware upgrade the program will know if it is dealing with a clone and the timer will start ticking. I would then imagine that at some point in the near future the first thing you would know about it was when all your authorisations disappeared out of your clone XPROG-M.

I think the the software detects xprog-m original or clone based on the serial number.

System software to compare the serial number, if its the same check sum, the firmware & authorization can be updated.

If different, of course xprog-m clone would be dead....:banghead:

then you should go where the licenses are and where your serial number of x-prog-m is, down there you will see "upgrade firmware"

run this "upgrade firmware" and it should then begin to do update..

ppl i have something strange noticed...

i have on my pc - pci recovery card installed as you all know this is when something in system files goes corrupt by next restart of pc the recovery card puts all the system structure data like it was before...

yesterday i have updated x-prog-m to v5, today i boot my pc up started device programmer and it shows me v4.5, i have uninstalled again v4.5 and installed v5.0 and restarted pc to to see what happens, when i restarted again the version of x-prog-m soft was 4.5.

so there is something strange going on or maybe my recovery card sees winlicense as a virus and put things back when i restart...

yesterday i have updated x-prog-m to v5, today i boot my pc up started device programmer and it shows me v4.5, i have uninstalled again v4.5 and installed v5.0 and restarted pc to to see what happens, when i restarted again the version of x-prog-m soft was 4.5.

If you right click and select "Properties" on the "bram380" 20100426 version 5.0 installer it has always said File Version 4.5.0 which still hopefully shows it has been a mistake on the official channels to release a wrong/incomplete/misnamed/whatever version.

And I still haven't done mine yet......

I do not connect XCLKS as it is very annoyng to connect something that is not totally neccessary. See connection in help of xprogm.

In such configuration I can read/write eeprom /no xclks connected/

but I can not do anything with FLASH. My xtal is 8MHz. Also chip is correctly identified as 1L59W mask while reading eeprom.

Again, for me it is very annoyng to connect XCLKS as it is NEVER provided on PCB like RESET or BKGD so do I have to go to connect in 0.8mm pitch wire that is only requested by xprogm for unkonwn reason?

Can anybody please explain why should I connect XCLKS as it is so stupid and almost impossible to realize? Always XCLKS is connected somewhere on PCB.

In a meantime I realized that connecting XCLKS has no meaning without connecting external clock as for secured chip.
If I have a board with xtal on it and no connection of external clock /non secured chip/ XCLKS must be kept Hi.

In reality, without XCLKS connected I can read 100% reliably /non secured mcu/ eeprom but I read flash only FFs.

Could it be XPROGM is faulty? Why then reads eeprom?

PE7 on attachment is XCLKS signal, so if it was Lo the external clock would be absolutelly neccessary

I use 4.5 downloaded from ecukey.com

NO I read unsecure without XCLKS, I think for secured it IS necessary as they in my opinion play with clk and baud rate to make things more difficult to understand

I'm in the UK and for anyone that hasn't the equipment I'll swap the Atmega FOC for forum members.

Some sort of Vpp voltage? Check datasheet and if you have correct Vpp, could be from 8 to 12V if I am not wrong

I found someone who could crack ATmega, he offers a cost USD300 for that process.

But I have not tried, because the seller (http://www.uobd2.com) xprog-m clone that I use, give warranty for a year.

Now that is very interesting. A far better price than I have found. I'm not too interested in the Atmega in the XPROG-M though. I have a protected ATMEGA 48V that I would love to see the internal code. It might be worth the outlay as the rewards on this one could be pretty juicy :listen:

I did some modifications on my bdm adapter for xprog m,but i removed the resistor indicated in errata sheet but i leaved unttached the wire that was allready there,green wire in picture,is that ok,for reading secured mcu s?

I finally receive my xprog , i take it from China KEYECU (http://www.keyecu.com/)
My unit not work from beginning because a small coil inside was desoldered ( maybe during ship ).
Second problem was usb cable , if you want to use without external power supply you must have a very good usb cable .
With xprog cable , there is only 2.9V measured at usb power inside xprog board.
After i tried several usb cable i manage to found one with 4.5V measured at usb power inside xprog board.
Third problem was that red and green led at top of unit was not light when programming , after several measure i found that both leds was solder in reverse position , just reverse again and both light now .
After all this i tried to read a HC11F1 , but another set of problems start.
First of then was there is no socket for this processor inside pack , instruction are only for ECU onboard programming , but because i have no easy access inside ECU , i just desolder and use in a external socket .
Second problem was that ( after reading several posts when it said that i no need external crystal ) i can only read processor after i solder an external crystal directly on socket pins ( inside xprog help you find what pins use processor for oscillator )
I use a 16MHz crystal , same as one in ECU.
Third problem was that reading sometimes work , sometimes dont , and verify after reading usualy fail with "device is silent " message .
Only for this problem i spent another day to solve.
I found that internal capacitor at 12V can store enough energy from usb only for limited time ( in my case only for reading ) then after discharging , verify fail.
This problem i can solve only with external 12V power supply , after that , i never saw that stupid message again
Also don't forget to use xprog original driver , in fact they are same with original ftdi drivers but they change name of serial port to xprog-m for easy recognize device and set correct speed of port
I also found that u can not have simultaneous devices into xprog port and dip socket , it only work with one device inserted at a time ( if i have processor inserted in large port and try to read a small 92C46 inserted in dip socket i get error "bad contact at pin 1 2 3 4 6 8 " )
Finaly , i update my unit to 5 version without problem , still have all authorization after that and unit work ok ( now i have coloured dumps , before was black and white , LOL )

I used Xprog-m v4.5 upgraded to v5 to work with MPC561 MCU ECU which has M58BW016 flash and 95320 eeprom, ECU Delphi form ISUZU Dmax. The problem was Xprog-m cannot read the external eeprom 95320, only read M58bw016. I did not try this ECU before upgrading the programmer so cannot say this the upgrade related. Anyone who used Xprog-m with MPC5xx and has the same problem.

OD53J must be read and program with 20MHZ
crystal.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On the D53J mask set (MC68HC05X32), DIV10 is forced in bootstrap mode. So 20 MHz Crystal must be used with this device.

OD53J must be read and program with 20MHZ
crystal.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On the D53J mask set (MC68HC05X32), DIV10 is forced in bootstrap mode. So 20 MHz Crystal must be used with this device.

Maybe yes or no, that should only be true for ETL programmer. Xprog-m SW accepts the manually selected quartz frequency, unlike the ETL. In the menu selection there is one dedicated menu to this mask set, 0D53J. If the compensation to DIV10 is needed it should be also done already in the SW. The DIV10 may affect Xprog-m to run slower but does run properly. But maybe NO! and the TMT guys should give you a big thank for this!

I have once make one key and the immo box have OD53J.
I had one mercedes key reader with seperate pcb and the only thing that works was to chance the crystal from 10Mhz to 20 Mhz on the pcb.

After reading all the posts in this thread i can say that im still confused. Im not sure if i have to buy a clone xprogm or an original one. The thing is that im new in this kind of business and i dont know everything like most of you.
Can you please help me. If you think that i can buy a clone can you please suggest a seller that i can trust?
As i saw many of you bought xprogm from obdfocus. I have bought many tools from them like lexia,mbstar,renault can clip and i had some small problems. Although if you think that i can trust them i will buy one from them asap.
Any help or suggestion will be very helpfull and highly appreciated.

I have this one from this supplier. So far it has read worked perfectly. (Apart from a Vauxhall/Opel CIM module 9S12 - but I am sure it is the module and not the programmer). I have not yet updated software to v5 but I am sure from reading this entire thread that it will. Very satisfied with it so far.

There are cheaper versions of this one available though. Just read this and other threads on here.

I have Xprog-M China clone that comes with version 4.5, is there any kmow issure with trying it with version 5.0 ?.
I tried this morning and is stop responding for some time, all It kept on saying was "device is silent" . Finally after trying all sort of things is now working again I have only been testing it with 93 series serial eeproms and a BMW EWS 2 0D46J chip.

Check connections on tms370 m8, clean with IPA cleaner and for tms370 use external 15vdc power supply m8:smokin:

i sometimes get bootloader error on tms370 m8, and cleaning will cure your problem m8

I have this one and all authorisations are ok as far as the ones I have tested (which is most of them now) and I am pretty confident that there isn't a problem with it. I've bitten the bullet tonight and upgraded to 5.0 16-05-2010. Thanks to bram380 and the rest who have tested clone with v5.

You can't restore authorizations mate. You've to find ATMEL dump and program it again to make your xprog working again.

Do you can send me picture how connect Xprog to EDC16, or SID 803.... or write how this connect, BDM100 use different pins (only 10 pins) then Xprog (12pins) in BDM pads in ecu. But checksum is automatic in BDM100 for flash only, for MPC and E2P is not in writing too.

Check that you are connected to USB port .
Go onto top Pulldown menu and goto Enviroment and see what settings are in the menu ie Should be USB etc .
