Thanks jelmer52, tried both but same problem, p0401 comes up strait away
I can disconnect the egr but dont think it will make a diference, I have fitted a blanking plate
I'll do it tomorrow to see if I get any other fault codes

edit: I have sorted it, I have done a map with volta and it seems to have worked, the egr duty cycle is now a constant 95.5% and the fault code hasn't come back, I'll drive it a few more days and keep an eye on it.

Its a Dpf off file but the Egr valve on this had working in contrarwise, so i changed the bits which were different to the (originalfile )-dpf off file from my original file to the dpf off file
