Hi, I have a Chinese clonic interface 812.4 beta, if I use Vag Com version 908, it will be blocked by the Vag com version 908.?

if you have clone (a good one) and if you use vcds908 you will get this message: "ross-tech interface not found! Interface: not found!". in that case you can downgrade your installation of vcds to version 805 and your cable would work. BUT if you have some of cheap chinese crap interfaces, you will blown it!! so, be careful!! because you don't know what you have, my advice is NOT to try!

I give 2 years warranty for mine, hardware identical to original very good quality, tested pcb, SI chips on K lines, 16v8BQL ,no overheating, . I make it myself. Only thing that can destroy it if you go on internet with that pc... export price is smaller then on site, but still much more then chinese, free delivery for Europe :)

When you connect to internet ,software automaticly connects to ross tech server, updates list of cloned serial numbers and sends command to Atmel inside interface to erase first few bytes of 93c46 eprom( attached to ft232bl) and erase few lines in Atmel.. so it doesn;t "kill" the interface... you must reprogram Atmel and 93c46 , and it will work... First symptom of "killed" interface is that windows doesn't recognize it and won;t accept drivers... another symptop is LED blinking RED colur only..
Chinese tred to fix that with some IC inside that "fixes" that ,but ofcourse, they failed... Their ,so called " never locks " interfaces work terrible and very unstable... With regular ,good hardware , you can do what you want to inteface...disconect in middle of working, unplug, plug, start the car in middle of measurnig blocks and it will always "come back" and reconnect itself in few sec. ...never freezes

export price is lower beacuse it doesn't include teh.support over the phone. Still , I am not chinese, I make every VCDS interface by hand, I test it minimum 2-3 hours on EDC15 and EDC16 ECUs . You can always make it yourself if price is to high for you :)

for the Chinese cables - it's true
on 812 it is unregistered after few min
currently they do not have cables for version after 805.1

i got genuin vcds lead for ?225 all in from uk seller last year , no probs updating or anything.
never bought cloned as cheaper in long run to buy genuin.

I know a person, who can program any older cable to VCDS 908 working good with polish VCDS 908 which is worse than adequate EN version (less fault code i database).

I didn't try it on EN version. I'm afraid of loosing my cable.

The price is about 50 euro + your old cable.

Any means upgradeable (i think higher than fifth series).
