We need to share our collective experience on this tool, what works good and what doesn't. Lets be real here...the Chinese sellers don't know shit.

There are clone and clone version of iprog. Some clones were reported to work just as good as the original or even better. Some others are just not worth. Mine has two pcb that has been filled with epoxy. You can't get access to any parts or try to repair it. Can't even try to make it work or repair if ever there is something wrong with it.

Some clones are sold saying never power it up with the DC supply and not to connect it via obd2 port else it will burn. Others have reported that there clone can or powered by dc source other than usb and can be connected to obd2 ports without problems.
Maybe people should tell us how much they paid for the good clones.

The clones are better cause you have newer software versions which are not available for the original version

I just got my clone the other day. They claim it's the V80 version.

I already went ahead and plugged in a 12v external power supply and it didn't blow up. I haven't cracked it open to take a look at which board color I have. What I can report is that my clone cost $ 89.90 before tax/shipping.

I might open the obd cable and desolder the power and ground cable on the end going to the iProg, so when I plug it in to do modules by obd, it should be safe.



Please don/'t power up IPROG by additional 12V Power.


Do not use OBD2 to connect to the car12V and 24V will not work (if you try it, it will give a burnt smell)
Must be linked to a computer
OBD2 line can only be connected to HONDA car
Other vehicle connections will burn Iprog equipment

Also my seller has some dumb instructions, would this not brick my iProg.


Main steps to install V80 iProg Pro:

Step 4: Select the menu item Help -> Check for Updates. Follow instructions

Yeah I've managed to read eeproms with this tool, but I wouldn't recommend it. Use the Eeprom adapter, pin #1 is where the lever is.

The entire board is covered, and this was tested on bench and in car. iProg still works good. Only script that i tested that does not work is the Hyundai Mobis script

The one that i bought was shipped from some gulf country. It has a solid white epoxy in between the two pcb. Too difficult to separate it.

Yes, I connect my Iprog to 12 volts and it works. OBD cable also. in the photo I have marked the capacitors that should be replaced (the red marks ones have those that burn most often. those marked in green should be replaced with 22uf C or D capacitors, if you do not have smd capacitors, you can solder ordinary electrolytic capacitors. for example, figure 2 (how to replace 2 capacitors per one) in the OBD cable there is only one capacitor, it should also be replaced if it is 106 A or 477 A (A = 10 V) B = 12 V, C = 16 V. ... 10 V and 12 V in the supply line is not enough for our precise Chinese power supplies Tolerance sometimes up to 15% :) especially those for half USD. Seems there is a dongle with the new one. An emulator will probably be needed.

I tried all the Honda resetter via k line. Read the crash cleared it but then put it in the car and the airbag light still on. Frustrating iprog

Everything worked fine, but I had to lift Reset pin.
I read both Eеprom and Flash without any problems!

I dont have iProg tool, but i was wondering if there would be a way for us to create some emulator to that we could use the soft to correct dash files...
Not sure if anyone had already made this question or thied this, but would it be possible?
Some years ago i was able to create an emulator for a dongle key (not related to automotive soft) and i though it migh be possible to do it...
Anyone with an iProg that would be wiling to do it?
I´m sure a lot of users here would appreciate...

I know china clone is cheap, but where i live, getting the package here is a Rullet. It can arrive or it canot arrive... Also, normal mail can take up to 2 or 3 months, if it really arrives...
The other is consider DHL / UPS or FedEx shippment, but them i would be paying the same (or more) for the shipment it self...
Anyway, i just thought on this, since (IMHO) i dont think it would be that hard to create the emulator (at least when i made the emulator for a USB Donlge years ago it was kind of simple... Cant remember the tools i used).
It was just a thought...
But i will check what opptions i have...

what is the MCU complete reference you are trying to read ?

Normally i take as reference xtal connections because they are easy to identify,
also i try to find on google pictures with connections from other programmers.

Another way is looking for the MCU PDF.



Give me more details and pictures from the MCU you want to read, i will try to help,

flooded with white matter. It doesn't work properly. The problem is in the power supply module. I wanted to copy the Mercedes Benz key. I saw the video on Youtube. Forget about copying. I prog is a scam. The second piece I bought, the motherboard was not flooded. better capacitors have been installed, you can connect to 12 V. It's unnecessary, it doesn't work with even one adapter. Hello to all. Today played with iprog again.

1. Repair power board to 100% functionality ( now it gives 10v and 12v at request, remove power bypass diode, repair DC-DC inverter )
2. Put new SAM7 to blue board and flash it with dump from post #124, after reflash iprog is recognized and passes full test.
3. With new sam7 and dump from #124 -- NO CHANGE OF SERIAL NUMBER ( it is not working ).

Please if someone managed to change serial to iprog, share here how he did it.

I managed to change it back. I had to unplug the programmer and plug it back in after I opened the app, then it detected it. Still doesn't work, but that's nothing new. I've tried several different software versions, but this thing is pretty much a useless paperweight. It's super slow, freezes up all the time, and never detects transponders.

About what to repair on power board, REMOVE diode D3 and find datasheet of DC-DC inverter chip, values for resistors are there in the document. I dont know what type of chip you have in your board. UIO_BOY please give better pics of board .

ahh, it doesn't matter now PSA, i've just messed up the board trying to repair it, there's a video on y tube of a guy explaining why he had no power to the pinout on the main unit and he says replacing a resistor with a 4.5k and my solder iron slipped and i removed three soldering pads, i'm sick over it, do you know where i could get it repaired or can you recommend a good vendor who sells good clones, cheers, goodluck.

Let's say in a way you lucky to have the black silicone on the boards. I would have heated it and removed it. There are a few suggestions on this thread itself on how to get the iprog to work

I dont have that its locked with sn325 when i bought it from Ukraine and i tryed to flash with 1.30fw but get error want work, i tryed iprog upgrade software, sam-ba and in the iprog software to change to 777 want work. Any advice thanks

Sorry mate sent to wrong person, if scripts cart be change how do people get clone device of iprog with there own sn of choose and get the scripts to work it. They must be away or do i need the usb stick with scripts on it to work any iprog sn. Thanks

I have the Ukraine version of the Clone as I was told it's much better than the Chinese one.

What is the usb stick use for with china one can you use it with any sn on the iprog or not also as anyone got the emvima ide software to create my own scripts

Buy from Aliexpres you will get the chinese clones with serial 1. They are almost useless though Comes with glue or epoxy. Don't work and cant be reworked due to the epoxy.

Found only one as guided by a member on here without any glue or epoxy but could not ship to my place

It's v82 but contains SN #1, #19, #35, #45, #777 & #49339. I only had to add v85 provided by fuzz1 (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/810280-Can-we-get-a-sticked-IPROG-china-clone-mega-thread?p=4037162&viewfull=1#post4037162). The iProg+ was in F/W 1.30 and SN1, I applied F/W upgrade provided by mihei (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/810280-Can-we-get-a-sticked-IPROG-china-clone-mega-thread?p=3849834&viewfull=1#post3849834) and can now change SN at will.

I could see that not everyone has the same silkscreens for Main and Power PCBs. So, my first job was to print the schematics and report on it the real Ids found on my boards.

- I had communication issues on USB and solved it by replacing the R12 pullup on the Main PCB (R10 on schematics) from 1.5kΩ to 4.7kΩ.

With the DB44 connector of the 6 wires adapter I built my own DB44 breakout and a Fulltest plug daughter board.
At first, I used a 12.18V/1.5A external power supply an a USB hub powered with a 2A charger. It didn't damage the Power board, but the Fulltest reported a weak +12V_Out.
- Then, I removed D3, C5 on the Power board (resp NA, C23 on sch.)
- Followin PSAcars (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/810280-Can-we-get-a-sticked-IPROG-china-clone-mega-thread/page10) advices, I boosted the current with a third R30=R32=1Ω in parallel (resp R33, R36 on sch.) for a total 0.33Ω = 0.3/Ipk => Ipk=0.9A (MC34063A datasheet)
- R33 (resp R43=1kΩ on sch.) was replaced from 390Ω to 180Ω.

Now that the inverter can provide several watts, I could see that my USB power supply could not provide enough power due to the crappy USB cable, this was solved with a new cable.
When USB power supply doesn't deliver enough, the Ext_VCC is converted in 5.0V through U2 (resp. U12 on sch.) whitch can become very hot if the inverted i charged.
In that aspect, the optimal Ext_VCC is not 12V but about 7V with decent currentand a low drop. I don't have 7V, I could only get 9.29V but it's better.

A problem remains... 2 MOSFETs are not adequate for switching the power lines, they are Q4 and Q3 on my PCB (resp. Q11 & Q1 on sch.).
At the inverter output, the voltage drop is VDS~-1.0V in the switch (note that there is a typo in this MOSFET drawing, Source & Drain are swapped.)
At the fixe Out_5V output, the voltage drop is 0.4V at 50mA. It's too much !

For both BSS84 channel-P MOSFET, a good SOT-23 alternative seems to be AO3401. I just orderer some samples here (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000549704167.html).

I just received the Mosfets OA3401 I ordered 9 days ago and could change the BSS84 Q3, Q4 & Q5 on my Power PCB (resp. Q1, Q11 & Q5 on schematics). Now, I have no more voltage drop under load.

Nevertheless I couldn't pass the Fulltest, there is an overvoltage on pin 43 for 12V/10V whereas when I check with a multimeter I get values within 1%, even under load.

Read again, the Fulltest is working 100% now on my device. And essentially I learned from PSAcars modifications (and thanked his post for that) but each iProg is different, the best approach remains to understand how it works, then it's easier to fix it. It's what I did ;-).
As I told you by PM, I have no ECU to test on bench, I'm not a pro. My concern is about PCF79XX and currently I didn't succeed. Neither with pogo pins on a PCB, nor with test clips on a blank PCF7952.

Did the iprog manage to see all eight pins connected? Sometimes you would get a few not connected with pogo or clip. I had to scrub the legs of the chips to read the chips

iProg version and S/N are not related. A serial is attached to binary scripts and you can't use them if they don't match the SN of your device.
Original Ukrainian devices are locked to a specific S/N, (you need to use BDM to change it) so that you can't share the scripts that work on your serial. On Chinese clones, the F/W is not locked and you can update it with a patched 1.30 F/W that allow to change the SN by the mean of a dedicated script (look for this post (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/810280-Can-we-get-a-sticked-IPROG-china-clone-mega-thread?p=3849834&viewfull=1#post3849834) of @mihei in DK related to iProgupd.exe).

Sadly all scripts are not working and the fact that you can't edit them is frustrating. I've even seen some with the BLR extension that are simple links to a paid service.

@biecpi has released his own version on carmasters.org and on DK too, currently at v6 stage. It's the one I use and I believe it's the more complete version available. It is limited to v82 version, so what I did is run the install and add the "iProgPro85.exe" in the main folder. The install itself is frightening if you can't read Russian and answer the questions, but for me it's really worth the challenge.

Everything is in this very thread, just take time to read it, this is "only" 200 messages... and in English. If you look at carmasters.org there is a full section dedicated to iProg (https://carmasters.org/forum/10777-iprog-iprog-iprog-pro/), the Russian, the Ukrainian and the Chinese version, you'll find big enthusiasts here as Misha and biecpi the only caveat is that it's written in Russian :-(

I might open the obd cable and desolder the power and ground cable on the end going to the iProg, so when I plug it in to do modules by obd, it should be safe.



Also my seller has some dumb instructions, would this not brick my iProg.

Too much issues with external power supply, as the adapter is not sold people plug what they have
- As a linear regulator LM317 will dissipate a lot of heat if any current drawn with 12V or more external power.
- Low quality power adapters may present a very high voltage in standby that will burn the tantalum capacitors that have too short voltage margin (for keeping costs low).
For those reasons, some Chinese mfg decided to remove this problematic part. So you didn't receive a full featured device.

There are several silkscreen marking. The IDs you mention belong to your board, not necessary to mine.
Your distribution software should contain the boards diagrams, you'll find your answer in it, apart of components numbering they match your boards at 95%.

There are no PNP or NPN transistors on the board. These are MosFets channel N or channel P. They are used as commanded switches. They are very common but not very good for the job under 100mA or more.
D3 can be removed, D4 and D5 are SS54 schottky for low drop voltage.
Both LM317 are the same, the regulated voltage is defined by a divider bridge.

Of course, if you solder missing components it will restore the external power functionality. Provided that you correct the main PCB too, I guess that EXT_VCC_DETECT circuitry is not implemented neither (a 2N7002 and 3 resistors)

But is it really an issue? The iProg is designed to work without the external power supply. The different voltages 12/10V and 5/3.3V are generated out of the USB power Pins. There is a MC34063A inverter on the Power PCB that can elevate the voltage with a fairly good efficiency.

If the Device Under Test really needs power then a better option wold be to use a good USB cable and a 5V powered USB hub.

I translated the MEGATEST script in English for conveniency, you'll find it in this post (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/882799-IPROG?p=4074585&viewfull=1#post4074585). It extends the Powertest script to other functions of the board.
Looking at the diagrams, the missing components make that you won't have +5V on pin14 but the External power supply is still available on pin33 & pin34 and you should be able to get 10/12V on pin30 and 3/5V on pin31 & pin32.
When using the buttons of the first Tab of MEGATEST the corresponding LEDS should light up when you activate 10/12V and/or 3/5V.

Which test is it? In what conditions? Maybe a test plug is needed to run the test.

Hello. It's good to know! I've seen nothing about this version, can you provide a link on your puchase, can you tell more about what the dongle was used for? Did you have the "Pro" feature? Do you have extra scripts? Did you contact the seller about your issue? Was it mentioned in the description that you got only a 3 months license?
Any way the hardware is not lost, I bet you'll find a way to flash in-situ, at no extra cost, a more convenient firmware for the iProg.

About what to repair on power board, REMOVE diode D3 and find datasheet of DC-DC inverter chip, values for resistors are there in the document. I dont know what type of chip you have in your board. UIO_BOY please give better pics of board .

I purchased an IPROG+ to complete tasks that dealership equipment can't do.

Not fully tested it yet, but it does read ford 4D transponders, But not Vauxhall Insignia fobs ?
So far it has work perfectly on clearing cash data on RCM modules for 2009-2013 Transit connects via OBD. Something that Fords equipment can't do.

Having replaced IPC (Instrument Cluster) in a 2010 Transit Connect. All programmed in with Ford's equipment ok. Van starts & rund fine with everything working as it should. Although ODO readout incorrect. Something which again Ford's equipement won't allow correction.
I thought Iprog+ would do it ? Unfortunately it can't, not by OBD. Iprog can't find cluster on automatic ID ? Plus there's no option for 2009-2013 Transit Connects. Is there a script for this available ??

Yes, you've got the same PCB as me (same silk screen). The power PCB won't stand a big current consumption with 12V external power supply, U2 would burn.
On main board I had a wrong value at R20, it should be written "513".
To avoid bad USB communication, increase R12 to 4.7kΩ, the default pullup is too strong and destroys the signal.
