Hello everyone, i am looking for a good programmer for mcu 9s12 family that can also work with XEQ, and other masks. i have tried VVDI prog, not good, r270, not good, xprog, not good. what else is out there you guys can recommend? r270 and xprog are clone units, maybe that is why, i do not know.

Sometimes won’t read or writes and damages the mcu

Worked with everything you have mentioned. I know its kind of luck, but among 100s of processor i have never killed a single one.
With all the respect possible, develop your research and soldering skills. WIth right pinout and decent connection - even 40quid R270 will never make a brick.
Even old-ass 5.55 Xprog clone for 50quid will read everything except XEP100. But VVDI Prog so far - best tool in my personal opinion, completely bugless with 9s12.

But for XEP100 BMW i use Yanhua Mini ACDP - reads those without soldering which is very time efficient. Very handy in case you do a lot of BMW mileage or keys, or maybe you are not so sure in your soldering skills.

VVDIPROG best tool on the market as for programming modules ,but it works as a DUO (programmer + well prepared technician) ;)

If vvdi is the best then what about xprog ori? Or upa-s?

xprog is a really good programmer...

but for example...
9s12xep768 (reball) in circuit no connection, installed in Harley davidson ecuīs...
also same with smok...

with cg pro/UPA/vvdi prog no problems with reading/writing...

but in generally xprog a really good tool...
since 6.5 in combination with win10 newest updates, I canīt see ADOBE help files longer...
on win7 all ok...

I had vvdi prog, couldn’t read the XEQ, but read it well with xprog, clone. In regards to xprog or r270, I can’t get it working with the Benz Eis w211 ST or HC12 MCUs. But the original R260 read it well, but not my tool, had to borrow it from a friend. No issues with soldering there, so........and in regards to CGDI 9s12, never used it but heard bad things don’t want to risk it. Thank you guys

My soldering is ok, and programming not an issue. I had no issues with the original R260, but it was not my tool, I have to borrow from a friend.
