Is it safe to use Dreamup with Dm500c boxes currently being sold by DVBmonkey and Dvbseller, etc
I hear Dreamup kills clones.

it was a particular image that was released by gemini that killed the clones, not dream up.use the dk image and you will be safe

Thanks for quick replies everyone - sorry got a little bit confused as not using DM500C yet - still the clarified issue and confirmed that Gemini image should be avoided. Is it just 1 particular version of Gemini that is a killer or is it all Gemini images

It isnt on all gemini images and people still use gemini but i suggest if your box is a clone which it will be then do no go near it.

Unless you fancy learning how to jtag and recover your box.

The 500c has not been produced by dream multimedia in about 2 years, so unless you have it longer than that, its a clone!!

if it has a screw in cable end like vm boxes then its a clone, if you need the push in aerial adapter, it isnt a clone!

as said about when they stopped making them but in answer to your question c stands for Cable and if it had 500s the S would stand for Sattalite

Hi just recently acquired dm500c from china, went through all the tutorials and used dream up, flash fxp and had all things right but still only free channels. All the premium ones have key locked on screen. Have read about keys in forums but as a newbie not sure where to get them from or what to do with them. Is this the answer to my problems? would greatly appreciate help as i feel i have wasted money on a free view box currently!!!!
