How do I know what transponder to use?

    How do I know what transponder to use?

    I am in Guildford, Surrey and my box has stopped working.

    I notice keys flying around for CW, NTL etc, how do i know which one I should use? In my transponders i have many listed and assumed i am using brutforce . . . . i don't know, i'm confused as ~~~~~

    Use this site to find what region your in. exNTL, exC&W ect . just input your post code.

    And its normally best to use the brute force for transponder scanning.

      Use the Bruteforce method if your not sure.

        Symbol rate 6887 is for NTL and 6952 is for TW and C&W.

        The bruteforce scan is both of these frequencies added together, it's nothing special. Just means you are scanning frequencies that you're not going to get any channels on, takes longer and gives same results as if you select the proper option.

        But yeh if you're not sure, use bruteforce.

          if i can't get any channels is it worth resetting the box and looking for a new transponder? Or am I just being stupid?

            If you are really stuck then why not jsut FTP a new working fixed image to your Dbox?

              If you're not getting any channels, try doing a factory reset and try again.

              Menu > Setup > Expert Setup > Factory Reset
