If can, people like you will not be vex whenever their card expired.

Like I have said, try not to buy the box with card unless you can be very sure you are given a card which does not expire.

get yourself a phoenix programmer for a few dollars and nagraedit and you can re-program the card yourself

Phoenix Progger can edit Keys and BoxKey but not reprog the card. Phoenix cant extend the expiry date and AU files. Jatrophaseed did try to share how to reprog IC88 card but was humiliated, insulted and cut down by forum DEALERS in earlier DM500c SG post .
I remember some even quote it cheaper to buy cards than reprog cards.
However, search the forum, you may get the old files posted.

The ones I bought from Ebay was the cheap USBasp,
it can read/write atmega88v but can't reset fuses, all expired fused-locked cards are useless.

I recommendation those serial/parallel NAGRAEDIT compatible prog kits with HV fuse-reset capability.

HV ISP progger can erase and reprog the card with new files. It will reset the fuse and erase the content as well. To learn how to just remove the LOCKED fuse, yet keep the files intact, it is another special knowledge by hackers. Atmel lock-system if can be removed just by HV progger, then it defeat the purpose of locking it. I am still learning the lock-register of Atmel. However, I am lucky to have an expert to teach me.

The simplest way is just to erase and reprog the cards with new working files. 6th Gen card files have been updated.

Edit: NagraEdit has nothing to do with Atmega88xx programming. May be just for editing keys, or Boxkeys. Or if you are good in Direct to Card, extend the expiry date, only if you know where the address of the date is.

The function of HV-ISP progger is for use when ISP fuse mode is enbled. In which case, the Atmega chip CANNOT be detected by ordinary ISP, only HV-ISP can disable the fuse to read the card provided it is not locked.

If you can feel that there is a small square chip at the lower end of the card and the card is quite difficult to bent, it is an IC88 chip.
If the card is red on 1 side and white/black on the other side and it is made of PVC, which means it bents flexibly, it is an original VM Rom11 card.

an original rom 10 or 11 is easy to do
