I have both and use both.

I bought the dreambox because the picture quality is better on larger tvs over 40". And it looks better next to all my other devices.

    I would get a dreambox.

I tried it but I was just so used to dbox that I shifted the dreambox upstairs as its used less and keep the dbox2 downstairs. It nice wee box though.

If you have a Dbox and its working ok why spend money on a replacment which does the same thing ?
If you needed a replacment due to the dbox failing then I whould say go for the dreambox as you get new with a garantee.

You don't get a guarantee on a new 500 now mate as they are clones as dm stopped making them a while ago now, i got my clone from zeus and the power supply failed after 6 months so i contacted him thinking i had 12 months warranty only to be told it only had a 7 day doa warranty and i had to buy a new psu for ?15! So beware, if you want a new box with a warranty then you will have to go for a 600.

I had a dbox for 3years, and i loved it had no problems, the odd freezing niw and again, but now i have updated to a dream box, had it about 6 month, and the quality and picture are much better.

yeah dbox was a good box to me but i think the dreambox is much faster and better quality picture, i seemed to have a lot of freezing on my dbox and if you go for a 600pvr and put a hdd in it aswell you can record like sky plus aswell not quite as good as sky plus but its damn good anyways

if you wanna treat yourself go for the dm7025. you will kick yourself for not getting it sooner. (if you have the money that is) there is soooooooo much more you can do with it. or any dreambox will be a big improvement on a dbox. you may even find you get more channels if youre prepared to hook up a dish. then the fun really starts.

reasons for dm7025. 2 tuners (mix them as you please ie cable and satellite) record upto 8 (yes eight) different channels at the same time. put whatever size hard drive you want in it. what more could you want?? hehe.

The Dbox2 does the job perfectly well but it's ~~~~ing huge.

I own and love both of them but I'd probably chose the Dreambox as it's sexier and has a 100Mbit LAN

                        Like felix1 has said, I wish i could afford a 7025

I'm holding out for a HD reciever though

I recently replaced my old dbox with a dreambox and the difference in speed and quality is immense.
