    DM800 Newbie needs help on DM800c

    Dear all,

    I just got my HD800C and is having some issues with it.

    I will really appreciate any kind soul who can help me.

    1) Signal Issue
    Sometimes for HD channels, the DM800c shows no signal or the picture get "pixelated" and distorted. This happens intermediately with random HD channels.


    Is this normal ? How can I solve this ?


    2) DM800 configuration

    Also i have read the forum, that I am able to access the HD800 via Ethernet or serial.


    However, my HD800 only has Ethernet port and it dun seem to be working ( no blinking light when I connect the LAN cable ) There dont seem to be any serial port either. Below is my box interfaces.

    I am using DHCP. I have tried to get the IP address of the by powering off and pressing the power on button when powering on again.


    Is there any alternative way to access the box ( to update the keys in future ) beside these 2 methods ?

              Your box is not even a DM800 but a china clone model (FY800HD).

              Not sure if you got the one using card or latest firmware that is cardless.

              If you are still using card, you might want to search for my posting on the upgrade firmware for this particular model.

              As for the pixelation of image, think it is your weak signal in the house or you are using some lousy cable. Will suggest you changing the cable from the wall point to the box to try out first.

                  I wonder if your firmware is the cardless firmware dated 27-FEB-2011? I downloaded this firmware from TN website.

                  Any idea which chipset or clone of any bignames STB?

                      No idea about the chipset used as I don't intend to invest in this crappy box.
