dreambox 500c

hi all
can any body tell me how i can start from scratch with my box, as i have messed with it & and i dont have a clue wat i have done !!! if i do a factory reset will this wipe every thing clean, is there a step by step instrucions any where to start from scratch for a nooby.

dk image i beleive,i may of already done a factory reset as i got the box on the first day the codes started going on a regular basis. i had no idea wat i was doing and got no surport of the man i got the box from.

Follow these steps:

Do a factory reset.
Do an automatic transponder scan using the settings for your area.
Go to sky sports one and reboot the box.
Go to Menu > Setup > Communication Setup and set the ip address.
Connect to the dreambox with your ftp program.

Download the files from this link...

Copy the files in the keys folder to /var/keys.

Copy all the .bin files to /var/scce.

Reboot the box using the 'reboot now' option in the shutdown menu.

Hopefully, all going well, when the box reboots it will show sky sports 1. It might take a minute or two to come on but leave it there and see.

sorry 4 being a pain, but i have tried to do this tonight with no joy spent 2 hours trying (all the info did ftp to my box). is there anything else i can try. off to bed now will try again tomarrow

hi,
i have DM 500 Gemini imag and Kerel : linux 2.6.9 .
I downloaded dreambox_stuff and put it var/keys and var/scce and put the new_rom 7 and etc....

the problem is i get black screen and when i switch to sky one or sky action movie its just black screen and subtext , no audio or picture.

My question is whats wrong???

P.S i left on sky sport 1 long time nothing happen and im usig flsh fxp. i dont want to reset to factory, because im recieving cardshare so ill loose eveything, is there other way to solve my problem?

i really need someone can explaine for me, why its black screen and its not working for me!!!!

I have a 2 boxes which I set up successfully, however one of them developed a software problem and I can't get it to work again. I even bought a 3rd box and can't get it to work.

I can get them both to the stage where the find all the channels and display the channel guide, but can't get the roms to work and show the programs.

Any ideas?

i have a d500c on dk1.1 how do i put dreambox editor on it in the plugins for manually putting keys
