im also looking arround for a dreambox eather dm500s or 600s

but if i accidently get a clone doe that mean that the software digital kaos provides will mess up the box and make it unusable or if i flash it with image and sofware provided it will still work like a genuine box

i have been looking everywhere and all sites that are recommended have none and i worryed about all the others i have found

so can you advise that if i unlucky enough to end up with a clone will it still work?

Yeah it'll still work
None of the software that digital kaos created will "mess up" your box, so you have no worries on that account.
Some dm500 ship with the kaos image on it.

Are you sure you are looking for a 500s or 600s, if you want to hook it up to a satelite feed then yes if you want to connect it a c@ble feed then you should be looking at a 500c or 600c (S = Satelite tuner, C = C@ble tuner).

With regard to software that messes up your box, you should understand that clone boxes are fakes. The original makers of the dreambox put code in their images that detect the fake/clone boxes and can cause you a problem. If you read in digital kaos about the process known as 'jtag' this is the work around to get around this issue. As far as I know you can only use gemini based images on a 600 but you can use neutrino and gemini images on the 500. Neutrino images do not require you to jtag your box.

We are all happy to give pointers and tips based on our own personal experiences and will help you get your box working once you have purchased one.. You also ask 'if your unlucky enough to end up with a clone', it should not be case of being unlucky, be sure to know what you are getting. Genuine DM500 are no longer made so any box saying it is will be a clone. Genuine DM600 are still made but i understand the chinese as ever have started cloning that too.

Keep smiling... don't be in a rush but be careful.. read in here, do a search or something and you will find threads where people have previously discussed this subject... Also read about clones and jtag etc..

i would rather buy a legit one ,any problem send it back
at least you would have some pease of mind
if a clone and goes tits up you got to pay postage again
then wait another two weeks ~~~~ that
or even get an openmedia box
