I am thick or daft. Is the dreambox mentioned in the fixes also called dbox? or is this something else.

They are similar but different mate.
Dreambox can be thought of as a more advanced version of the Dbox2.
The Dreambox is made by a company called DreamMedia, the Dbox2 is made by Nokia, Sagem and Philips.
Dbox2's are no longer produced.
The fix file will work on BOTH machines quite happily, but the complete images are not compatible. -

they both use similar linux based software and emulators (cams ) such as evocamd and mgcamd so the fixes are the same.
