dreambox froze

dm500c will not accept any image or dreamup tried to use dk image
when i turn box on green light on but no matter which
button i press on remote nothing happens to box
won't turn off manually either

make sure you have all the leads unplugged apart from the null cable when you start dreamup then hit connect them put the power lead back in,if this dose not work make sure you are using a serial port on your pc/laptop not a usb to serial adapter

it connect box says ping not ok
yeah using serial port on pc

your comms are set up correct ie your seril port is set to 3 and your dreamup set to 3 failing this leave it unplugged for 24hr and try agian if this fails it looks like your bootloader is knackered and may need jtaging or better still sending back

can't return it had box over 12 months
or how can i jtag it

never had to do it my self but there is a sticky in the dreambox section

i am having exact same problem completely new to this the green light is on and nothing works on remote can you j tag with a null modem rs 232 help somebody please getting close to taking it to the canal thanks in advance

Out of curiosity does the green light go out after leaving the box on after approx a minute ?
And does it say just DM500 in the Dreamup Log...
I had these issues with one of my DM500C tried different versions of dream up but just would not ping the box.
Fortunately box was new so was returned to supplier.

after trial & error fially got dk image 1.1 on box
reboot bruteforce,went to keylist to clear but was already clear
exit out but only fta channels have missed something out
