    DM800hd clone

    Hi,

new so be gentle and thanks for reading.

had a quick look and could not see any info on this problem.

I have a dm800hd clone with a fixed dish, shared with several other flats.
All works well apart from some of the film channels have commentary which is best described as suitable for part sighted people. describes people walking across floor etc.

Other problem is slight break up of picture on some channels. I have had the dish checked by Sat guy and it is ok.

    thank's again

There's an 'Audio' button on your remote that has selectable audio feeds. It seems your default feed is for the partially sighted. Press the audio button and change the feed.

The break-up of picture could be a number of things. If your cardsharing, then it's most definitely your server. If your not cardsharing then it could be your tuner. Does the breakup happen in SD or HD channels?

The old dm800 tuner had problems with overheating and often glitched on HD channels. Check your FTA HD channels. If they glitch, its a tuner issue. I think its probably a server issue if your cardsharing and while your internet activities can affect the stability of the line, the problem is far more likely to be server-side, in which case no amount of computer tweaking or changing will solve it. Youll just need a better server.

          thank's again,

What would make one server better than another?

I think the main problem with pay servers is overloading. They get greedy and cram in too many subscribers, more than their hardware and connection can comfortably sustain. Finding a good server is really just trial and error. There are forums out there dedicated to commercial cardsharing. Server owners advertise for subscribers and subscribers can post reviews of the service. Find the servers with good reviews and ask for a test line, and if it's not satisfactory, move onto the next one.

There are VERY few payservers out there who can actually backup their "freeze free" claims. Most payservers glitch to an extent, some are perfectly tolerable, but some are unwawatchable. Trial and error, :-)

Thank's for your feedback.FTA hd channels are ok. so the server looks to be the problem.
