    Dreambox 500C - Doorstop or useful?

    Hi everyone
    My Dreambox 500c has been consigned to the garage shelf for some months now, after the boxes failed to get any useful channels.
    Just wondered what everyone is now using these for, as I presume they are now next to useless?
    Shall I leave mt 500C in the garage or can it be ressurected?

      you presume correctly... there ARE some cable c/s servers out there, but they're like a needle in a haystack m8

          Useful with a lot of readings, useless without. There are a lot of needles Shady

          You can also use it as a server for Sat sharing if you like.

                      just remember the old days m8. went keys where all the same in uk and ireland with alot of boxes, so was just wonding would a uk needle work in the 500c in ireland

                          Keys where never the same only in each ex franchise area, i.e. NTL, Telewest,ex C&W , even Ireland was fragmented into two, (Chorus & NTL), going by memory.

                              but did ntl uk keys work with irish nlt box ??? but saying that the Starview 7 wont work in ireland but will in the uk

                                  No two different key sets as two different providers. Regards the server they do not have a working one for Ireland to date. There was at one stage.
