hi guys. just bought this recently.

some additional info i got:

during startup, the oled will show a link Free Dreambox Images Download (Only for NEWB DM800 SIM2)

is it a clone?

starting to have a few problems now.

few days back, some channels wer uration failed. so i did an automatic service scan, but i forgot to disable clear before scan.

now my channel list is all in alphabetical order. i can't key in numbers to change the channels.

i also noticed that the channel playhouse disney is missing. any way to get that back?

lastly, almost all my free to air channels are pixelated. all the other channels are fine.

help?

There's an updated bouquet for SG in the download section and transfer them using dreamboxedit. Save yr current bouquet in case you want to revert back.

is disney junior the old playhouse disney channel for SH?

but when i switch to disney jr, it says tune failed.

i foolishly reset to factory settings without making any backups at all. that was a few months back, when i just got the box & had some problems. yea stupid of me right? does that have any effect? do i have to reupload any keys or some sort?

oh & is there any better bouquets for SH HD channels that's recently updated?

all of a sudden, my clone dm800hd decided to play punk with me. after bootup, the oled display would go blank and the red led will keep on flashing indefinitely.

i tried updating to several versions of the bootloader, from 76 to 82 now @ 84.

so it turns out i needed to reflash the image. with tons of variations out there, i decided to go with Digital Kaos - Downloads - Sim2-vti.mod-dm800-84b

i don't need tons of features, just happy to watch tv. most importantly the interface should be simple.

after a successful flash, i did a service scan. but only free to air channels are viewable. did some reading up, i think i need some form of keys eh? now where do i get those?

& why of all things u flash a different ssl to your box
unnecessary, the images that your supplier install is already a patch images which i don't know which ssl, DID U KNOW?
& u should have make a backup of your keys & rom files 1st before u do anything to the box as this backup things is already mention from most seniors & even junior who read & ask before doing anything stupid like this

thanks for the reply sir. yes i have to admit that it was a stupid action and decision. i tried all the possible ways to backup the required stuff to no avail. the only thing i managed to get working was accessing the webpage where you can recover/reflash the image.

before that, i tried ftp. even a software called flashwizard pro. same results, no way to access the clone dreambox. i also tried a crossover cable to connect my laptop directly. same results as above. and after spending the whole day reading all the possible threads, i finally gave up and pulled the trigger to flash a new image. yes, stupid i know. thanks for the reminder.

what is the next course of action? is this a dead end?

Are u able to ftp to yr box now? By flashing new image, u need to do all settings. U need to scan channels, install softcam, ftp yr keys & roms before u can view paid channels.

the next step is to communicate with box if all went well use DCC to send your AU keys, softcamd keys & rom files to their respective folder if still difficult to get than ask your supplier to issue u,
use DB edit to send

restart mgcamd_1.35_ that is already pre installed with the images.
If u can watch those encrypted channels than u have done as most of us who done it. The next step use DCC again edit the softcam keys 00 01 to FF FF restart box see if the AU that u have works

Hi all,

I have Dreambox DM800 HD PVR.

The last few days I put the box on standby mode & if I am not wrong, there are some recordings to be done. The hdd is attached to the box.

I tried to turn the dreambox on but it gave and error and started to reboot. After a few reboots, it hang in the loading screen with the dreambox showing

the tv screen will only show the newnigma2 white loading screen.

Any pros know what could have been the problem and how should I go about to solve it?
