Try DCC, and a FTP client. Google Drambox FTP for a few tutorials.

Doesn't matter what ftp program you use, DCC, FlashFXP, CuteFTP, etc., as long as the files transfer they all do the same job.

How do we know if we are using evocamd or mgcamd?

When you boot the box up it will say "Starting Evocamd..." or "Starting Mgcamd...".

Also if you go to the emu manager (usually blue or yellow button) you will see which one is active.
