    DM500 Blackbox or Dreambox

    Hi guy's

Just after a bit of advice really, I recently bought a Dreambox 500c which went faulty. I sent it off and after months of waiting i have been told they have no dreamboxes in stock to replace my faulty one with, but i can take a blackbox which is meant to be exactly the same. Are they exactly the same with different cases?

What do you guys think, should i accept the blackbox and call it quits or risk waiting another eternity for a straight swap?

    Cheers guys

Identical equipment on the inside, just a different case, and people can't call it a clone because it's not actually got any Dream logo's on it's case.
But like the DM500C clone is a very good box.

Thats right m8 got it from dvbmonkey when it went all tits up they told me to send it to buyingthings who came back to me with this option. Why do u ask m8, have you had dealings with them in the past? if so how have you found them?

So you got a dreambox fro dvbmonkey and it went tits up and you returned it to buyingthings ???

If thats right then the black box will do as a replacement, as said before it is the same thing in a different shell.

Buyingthings also say they have the blackbox in stock and if the are in UK stock you will get it pretty sharpish. I ordered blackbox from them a few months ago and got it next day...but it must be in UK stock and not China.

I contacted BuyingThings.co.uk yesterday regarding a faulty DM500C which was purchased from DVBMonkey and which had to be returned to BuyingThings.co.uk who are the UK Service agent, now this was sent to them on the 1st December and i had a email to say it had been received on the 2nd December but no further correspondence since, i have emailed DVBM 4 times to try to get a update but not had a single reply.
BuyingThings.co.uk said they are going through the backlog of faulty boxes as quick as they can and cannot replace or repair anything until DVBM advise.
So i am stuck in a vicious circle, and has i have another faulty unit that needs to be sent back, i am just having my e-mails ignored.
Chinese new year starts soon and they have a 3 week shutdown, the news just gets better.

Mine took 3 weeks to arrive, they definitely don't have uk stock, i think you got lucky.

But yeah they're exactly the same, but apparently the blackbox has a Phillips tuner.

                      Thats shocking!

Buyingthings told me they would send my unit straight away and i haven't heard anything since! The waiting game continues! What a joke.

Regarding the difference with Black boxes to the silver is the black ones I am sure are screwon tuners and also the tuners are also different(makes),apparently more stable than the normal plug in tuners(rf connector needed)...Not 100% but have heard that
