if you were after sat, i would have linked you to my BRILLIANT flowchart designed to help you choose a box.
if you're open to other options (ie sat), then take a look here > http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f11/box-214833/

If however you are adamant on getting a cable box, then you have a choice of 2. these being the kryptview a780 or the starview 6lan/starview 7
Starview 7 is a ppv model and i am of the opinion, judging from the posts on here, that it is a pi55 poor server with pi55 poor support..
TBH, the kv a780 isnt much better as it suffers from the same problme as the starview, one server and thousands of clients, meaning choppy viewing especially with, for instance, a big sporting event when most clients are watching the same channel at the same time.
However as (for now) the a780 only has the initial box cost to pay, then i would choose that if i absolutely HAD to have cable.

There IS an alternative, and that is getting a dm500c and finding a cable cccam server... I have never seen one advertised, let alone used one, and as such they are rarer than hens teeth.
    good luck tho
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives
