DM500 From Scratch

Hello you guys! I previously owned a DM900C clone, but recently I got a DM500 that seem to not need a smartcard.

The problem is, it's all working till I decided to hit the "Update Keys" button which downloaded some keys from the Internet.

What's worse, I panicked and hit Factory Reset.

Now I'm left with an empty box. It's connected to the network (Internet network, not TV network) fine.

I'm from Singapore/Starhub, my box is running on Nabilo DarkStar 2. It was previously using Mgcamd1.35.

Starhub is running on Nagra 3 encryption I suppose. Previously it didn't require me to manually update keys, so does that mean that I had some kind of autoroll installed?

Right now I've got Mgcamd1.35acs installed. However, I'm unable to connect to any transponder.

After some reading, I found that I'm missing a cables.xml. All the links I've tried so far were down. Can any kind soul please point me to a working copy?

U need to ftp yr softcam.key, roms in scce folder and use dreamboxedit to transfer yr channel bouquet or u could flash with this image.

Hello! Thanks a lot for your help! I flashed the new image through FTP and Telnet as per instructions from another thread and it worked!

Just wondering, is it possible to obtain the new root password and the setup pin? I've already have the list of sources used by that image through other means anyway, I just want the pin to change the skin, install some plugins and to set a static IP (I'm using static DHCP in the meantime)

Yes they can find out. But no worries, unless you damn unlucky or someone report on you.

hey guys... having a slight issue with my 2 dream boxes... i copied the image from one of them and placed it on the other. it worked... but it seems to have an issue when voth of them are connected to the network.... i have 8mb DSL so bandwidth isnt a problem. they both stick constantly. as soon asa the other is off the network.. the stream is fine. any healp at all would be greatly appreciated

You need to ftp yr bouquet again.
