DM500 1st time Dreambox 500C setup, couple of probs

Hi all,

Got this box setup from scratch this morning using the guides from this site. Many thanks to all who contribute, the spoonfed newbies guide was all I needed.

Just a couple of things I cannot figure out

1. cannot get any Setanta channels no matter what I try, read all the posts for clues tried all suggestions with no luck!
2. Installed the football plugin (tried thru the remote and manually) again using the methods explained on the forum with no joy! Seems to install ok but cannot get access to it from any menu on the remote!

I stuggled with this problem, in the end I resolved it by
a) Checking what transponder frequency they had moved to in my area.
b) Checking that they were there via a manual scan for that frequency.
c) In a lot of case this new frquency was not in the list of frequencies that were being auto-scanned. So it had to be added in to the channel file that auto-scan uses to get its frequencies from.

In the automatic scanning options, choose 6952 (for ex-tw areas) or 6887 (for ex-ntl areas). They're at the very bottom of the list.

The dreambox needs to be connected to your router and have internet access for the football plugin to work. If you manually installed it, remember to chmod 755 the .so file or it won't work.

Thanks for that, tried what you suggested automatic scan on 6887 (used NTL Teesside before). Just as the scan is completing I get "couldnt open servicefile - create /var/tuxbox/config/enigma!" I am using the DK 1.1 image.

Connected the box to the internet via router, is working ok.

Setanta sorted.

I used the remote to do a factory reset of the box (to fix the Fatal Error)
Copied the keys and Roms over (via FTP) into the correct folders.
Overwrote the Nagrarom7.bin in the scce folder (DK Image)
Then did a bruteforce scan, all channels found including Setanta
Done

I need some help installing the unit, receiving the channels and making it function properly.

Thanks alot for the help, I managed to download Nagrarom7 and updated the box using the newbees guide. I have to say it is realy helpful but the problem is I only can watch BBC channels, I have no any idea where I went wrong as I got the connection using FilZilla and the connection was succesful.
DJ Mark your are a saver hero, that's the site I used to download it and you posted exactly the same, many thanks. As I mentioned above I can't see any other channels, any help will be apreciated.
