DM500 Free to air only

Hi all I have been trying to set up my DM500c for some time. I am getting free to air only. I have tried following the advice in the forum but I'm still stuck. Do I need to insert the card out of my VM box into the dreambox?.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
