    image problem

    is there any way to put an image on my dm500 without affecting my magic files as i think the image is faulty,it won't let me scan for my area

    Sorry but you will have to back them files up if you put a new image on but if you can ftp to your box then it's a piece of p#ss

    Edit: Why don't you just flp a service & bouquet files for your area to your box it will be much easier than putting a new image on

      i have serv an bouq files for my area,a friend sent me them but im not sure what way to extract the services.tar.gz,i've put it in tmp but when i try to restore serv it says place the file in tmp b4 u reload script.

        All you do is ftp the services.tar.gz file to the /tmp file, don't extract it on your PC beforehand.

        Then select the ServicesRestore option in the User Features menu.

        You should always keep a copy of the /var/keys and /var/scce folders on your PC anyway for safe keeping or emergencies incase you need to reflash.

        You can also take a full backup of the image using the BackupImage option in the User Feature menu. Assuming you're using the DK v1.1 image.
