    DM500 Broke ethernet port

    Need Help

    Does anyone know if its possible to com over the keys to the image as my com port works but the ethernet port is dead or have a image that have the au fix install

    You could always put the keys in manually.

    Use a file manager programme. Its tuxbox commander on a Dbox2, not sure if its the same on a dreambox.

    Must be a tut on it somewhere if you search.

      You can't FTP over the serial port mate.

      You're only hope is grabbing an already configured image complete with the new roms and transfer the entire thing via DreamUp.

      So build yourself a complete image and upload it, easy

          u can read the telnet post on how to backup the working image and then use dreamup to put it onto your box with the broken ethernet port...

            BTW, are you 100% certain that the LAN port is ~~~~ed?

            Have your ruled out dodgy network configs?

              I have the same problem with a dodgy ethernet port
              is this a common thing on clones, is it worth trying to re-solder it or is that likely to cause more problems . . .

                whats the port not doing, are you getting connection lights when you connect to a hub

                    hi
                    i have 2 dm500c's one ethernet port works
                    the other does not

                    box with working port flash image ftp files needed
                    when image is working back up image (follow tut on telnet back up/flash image)and back up image

                    then flash backed up image to second box using null modem cable and dream up Select No (nein ) when asked if you want to perform a flash-erase during the process
                    this works for me
                    hope this may help
