600C Image?

Which image do you recommend got the 600C. I'm currently using the pli jade but wanted to try some others.

The Pli image is the only one that does 'now and next' EPG for cable in the infobar. I tried a load of different images and than came back to the Pli for the EPG.

I am having a few issues with this though, u may be able to help?

1. I'm trying to set up SQLite EPG import plugin, but only certain channels have the extended epg? any ideas?

2. Can I delete channels from the services list? I may be alone here but I don't really need the ~~~~ ;-)

3. The epg table layout, font size seem all wrong. I can hardly read what's in each box. Is there a way to change this?

4. I'm struggling trying to lock and hide a bouquet. Any ideas why this wouldnt work?

minor niggles, I'll get there I'm sure. Thinking of re-flashing and staring again but as I'ts my lack of knowledge thats the problem not sure this would help:-) If only I could re flash myself...................................

U could try the Pli Iolite image that was the predecessor to the jade if you want to try something else. its a very good image...

Stay with the Pli Jade it is very reliable and who wants to go backwards anyway.

Radio Times epg how 2 for Dreambox 600 pvr

This guide is for Pli@ images tested on iolite, probably be ok for Gemini etc.. with slight mod.

1st you need hdd installed to store epg data!!

2nd your box connected to the internet !! (doesn?€™t have to b all the time, just for downloading epg data etc..)

3rd ftp program to upload files. (only in setting up)

4th setup your bouquets favourites etc?€?(prob have done this already)

Ok set epg to SQLite EPG database go to system settings either (menu, setup, system settings, EPG) or (blue button, dreambox settings, system settings, EPG)

In EPG

Set epg data store: to SQLite database

Set epg location: to Internal harddisk

Epg directory should say /media/hdd

Set epg days to 7 (just example u can change 2 whatever latter)

Press green button to save.
Exit

now go to downloads (blue button, software management, downloads, addons/plugins, Digital+ EPG grabber or Dreambox EPG plugin. (whichever is available to u))

check the download is ok ?€? (yellow button, plugins, dreambox epg config)

in the config.. package will probably say Digital+ and when dropped down Wolf_nl, & possibly Radio Times as well?€? we?€™ll come back to this

Now in tv mode select your Bouquet you want times epg 4
Select a channel (any one as long as your in the bouquet)


Now back to dreambox epg config (yellow button, plugins, dreambox epg config)

in the config.. package it should only say Radiotimes UK now as you got rid of the other crap ha ha

set time offset to 0 hours

number day 7

Cron options (will check this setup in a min)
Check use cron if you want your box to automatically get epg at time 6:00 (can set it 2 whatever time u want)

Press green button channels:-

On the left side you should have the radiotimes channel list, on the right your bouquet channels.

From the left scroll down to ie?€? bbc 1 select ?€? highlite will b a box now & on the right the highlite will appear at the top scroll down to match it with you bouquet channel
Continue till you have matched all your channels.

Then press green done. Exit

Back in epg config press yellow retrieve:-

Wait for the retrieving to finish press blue done. And exit menu back to tv

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Press red button & hey presto radiotimes epg!! Exit now last bit cron

go to system settings either (menu, setup, system settings) or (blue button, dreambox settings, system settings)

then services to run check start cron press green button. Exit back to tv now all done

You can delete the pron channels, but you need to turn off the background scanning, otherwise they will appear again.
From memory, (my 600 is back in the UK) you go to the channel in the epg highlight it and press the menu button, which should give you the option to delete it. Alternatively you can remove it from the services file.

Have you changed the skin to the default enigma skin? Does that help?

Guess I'll switch off the background scanning..

I have tried all the skins included in the image. I like the screwed stone pli version, but the dark media pli is probably slightly better with regard the epg layout. Still all bunched up though....

Is There no Epg at all on gemini 4.50

Hi I have put on Gemini 450 image from here on my box dm600C pvr and it does look fantastic quality ,,I would like to use it but had abit of trouble to start of ,only had the box a few day,s so learning so be kind in your reply,s im new to dreambox but not any other box dbox2,s etc ,I think it has been set up for sat ,,anyway I downloaded the Evocamd 2.17 through the dm600 saved it put my services and cables in to there folders I think they where right ,, then ended up using dreambox edit to load my saved bouquets ,,trouble is all the channels are there but the epg I have read some posts about this on here,,So 1 can the image get epg 2 why has my cables not came into the scan settings with out me trying to set it up manualy, 3 Has anyone got a tut on setting the box up for recordingas I got the box with out a manual,,I have put all these ,s togather so i can get the answers if any all on the one post thanks for you time reading this any help is better than none

1. The Gemini image can get the epg but only for sat.
2. You need to copy the cables.xml file to var/etc. Have a look in the DK download section for the file.
3. If you want to record with timer than Press Setup > Timer and than set as required. You can also use EPG to record by Pressing OK > RED Button > Green Button to select current channels.
