DM600 anyone used a JTAG on it? serial and ethernet are dead

    Hey,
I have a Chinese DM600C. Since I got it, the network and serial ports never worked. I can pick up freeview channels, so I know the tuner does work.
Has anyone got any idea how I can reflash it?

I have tried copying the the .nfi image on a CF card, and sticking an IDE to CF adapter on the box,I can then view the file in tuxbox commander. Does someone know if i can unpack the nfi through tuxbox?

Failing that i'm willing to build a jtag cable. Does anyone have a guide?

    Thanks.
i haven't much to offer, but i have spare null modem cabes if someone wants them!

yeh i know it a pile of crap! I got it from china, I cant remember who from. I told them i'd buy a container load if they gave one free sample. course the sample they gave was a load of crap, so i can imagine their standard is pretty low. I have also done this to get a 500c clone from a different company which is still working fine.

ive seen that cable before, but i dont have the pinout for the 600c or software. Is the software/pinout the same as the 500c? There is plenty of stuff out there for the 500 series.

seeing as it cost me nothing I gave up on it. But i just built a jtag cable for a wifi router earlier this week, so that inspired me to bring it out of the cupboard and maybe give it another go.

not sure m8 sounds like a hardware fault. one thing u could do though is install barry allen on the cf card then try installing a nfi image that way prob a ball ach this way but better than nothing i suppose

              cheers

You would be better off flashing a image with dreamup & a null modem cabel

It's a pity the ethernet ports not working as you could have flashed it using the second stage boot loader and a web browser - ahhh well never mind m8.
