sorry to butt in, but are you saying that the efforts i have made in getting this eurovox ex5000 ( a new disovery for me) working will be be wasted this year??????

no one knows for sure when it will happen m8 only maybe some top brass at virgin but it will come i reckon the back end of the year a month or 2 before xmas but as shady says you will of had your moneys worth

btw your eurovox will not be useless as you will still be able to watch and record freeview channels

you wont go far wrong with sat m8 there is all sorts on it 3pm sat footy hard core ~~~~ films kids tv ect although in foreign you can change the audio to english on most things

as df said even i when the encription change happens it may not be long before it is hacked too its all a matter of wait and see what happens with it but you wont go far wrong with a sat set up anyways regardless of what happens

and a dish apparently a 100cm should get you pretty much everything

i wouldn't recommend buying a cam and programmer. hardly anything open now.
maybe digi tv on 1* west on dabilo cam but that aint going to last much longer.

you're best getting a linux box and going one way or another way.

the first way is better as you have some control over whats happening, though you need to put effort in yourself.

the second way is easier and cheaper though you risk getting your fingers burnt.

i'm not saying anymore.

hi i have dream500c was thinking on investing on a 500s in case nag3 thing screws 500c is it worthwhile buying 500s or will there be cardshare f0r 500c in the future anyone got an opinion 500s vs 500c for card shareing thanks folks

LOL that's correct m8, I've already anticipated the next rom change and have setup my entire family and close mates boxes so they are connected to the net - with a dyndns account so I can access them via the net if I need to access them to make any changes. Also I have a server where they can download an updated image or update at the press of a button.

As for CS well - I have been doing that on sat tv for ages - - so doing it on cable won't be a hastle.

But if the worst comes to the worst - you could always use your dreambox as an internet radio with millions of channels to choose from, a http web page server, a ftp server, a kaid server etc.

Have you thought of getting a openmedia 500cs? Its got a Cable and Sat tuner so you could set up cable on the box then when you want to set up the sat aswell.

Im sure the box is about the same price as a dreambox 500
