black screen on dreambox

flashed nagrarom7.bin as image by mistake can it be fixed

use dream up and null modem lead and reflash it with an actual img,




oh and dont do it again .

got dream up and what i think is a null modem cable it says connection prepared switch on box but the flash option doesnt highlight

How could that file flash m8, its a bin file, not an img file. ?

when you connect leave the power to the dreambox off, when you click connect it will say waiting for dreambox, plug your dreambox in then....should say dreambox is alive and talking to us after that then you should be able to flash.

i was using dreambox control centre
and image and rom bin files are supported they were all in same directory and clicked wrong file

to flash an image it has to be an .img file , if you tried to flash a bin file it would tell you , invalid file.

it has option to update flash image which supports rom bin cramfs img files

check out the dior image with au-roms have uploaded in the download section ok.
download itand flash it to your box ok.
when it asks do you want to perform a flash erase just click no(nein) ok.
then after connect everything back up and

scan for the channels using bruteforce first,
So do the following
language english
save
time settings click the down arrow on the screen and choose your time settings.
then click save
then choose automatic transponder
choose bruteforce
wait untill you see start scan (But dont click only free)
then wait for the channels to download



then go to
menu,
service searching
choose cable 6887
wait till it says start scan (again do not click only free)
then after it has finished click exit 3 times.
go to sky sports 1.
everything should be working fine then ok
