DM500 flashfxp connection failed

Hi,
Total newbee here,got myself new dm500c,using spoonfed
newbees guide,allright until i try flashfxp,keep getting
connection failed,using crossover cable,pc to box,tried null modem cable,and both to-gether,same answer,using ip from box
do i have to change any other setting's,any advice would be
p.s. using vista,

Hi guys,
Been tied up at work,have'nt had chance to reply,thank's
for the guide's,also got new crossover cable,connected no
problem,sky sport's 1,evocam start,blank screen,let it run,still
nothing,anyone any idea's,tried the gun at my head but i
missed,
