dreambox blank - noob in distress !!

The story so far?.

Came home on Wed evening to find dreambox not working - blank screen. The channels were still all listed but when I tried any I got a ?Switch: Service could not be found?. I checked the signal by reattaching my other box and it worked perfectly. I connected the dbox to pc and reflashed with same image(DK ver ?) that was successful after last Decembers change. Flash was confirmed as successful. Reattached dbox, rebooted and same as before ?Switch: Service could not be found?. Panicked a bit then and did a panic button and factory reset, reflashed and still nothing ? except now lost all channel listings. Have also flashed dk ver1.1 but to no avail.
Also don?t have a Ethernet crossover cable to FTP the box ? is this necessary. The last DK image brought in all channels FTA and all others !

It may be stating the obvious but after the factory reset did you re-scan for all channels ?

scanned a few times, - bruteforce, ntls etc - still nothing. i've read on other threads about ftping the box but they all seem to get fta channels after flashing. thats whats stumping me - theres nothing at all !

derm flash your box with this file
when asked flash erase click no/na
then turn off box 1min reboot shud be on bbc1
go to ssp1 & press ok may take 1/2 mins then all
shud be well

hi andy4, did as instructed above - same result - "Switch no service available". When scanning, SNR is at 0% - does this mean theres no signal getting thru to the box.

usually means that mate. you say youve checked the signal on another box, sounds like a probable ~~~~ed tuner

is there any way to definitely find out if the tuner is ~~~~ed?. I would like to know before i go throwing out the box !!
