water and dreambox... LETHAL!!

hey guys my brother (accidently he said)
put water on my dreambox 500c now it wont work.
i tried unplugging all the wires for a few minutes etc. all that comes up on the screen now is loads of lines no picture just sound. is there anyway of saving it or is it only fit for bin.
if its a case of having to bin it would you recommend getting another 500c or trying maybe the 600 series one(would i get more channels with this etc).

i would say its fit for the bin, unless you want to change the main board??

wouldnt have a clue how to do that man ha guess its time to get the mastercard out so and ebay it up

Try drying it out thouroughly then cleaning it with some wd40 or some other component cleaner.

Douse cotton buds in the wd40 and wipe both sides of the boards down. DFry out again and then try it.

The components may still be savable.

This has happened to me with phones subbed in water and a few days drying and cleaning can solve the problem.

if ur box was plugged in wen it happened u might be out of luck but try this, fold a towel and leave it on a radiator and leave your box on the towel for a few days, make sure u have ur heating on for regular intervals and see how u get on, by the way dont but any box from ebay u will get them cheaper from here................................
