I am using Filezilla to put the fix on to my dreambox I am using a crossover cable but my computer cannot connect to the dreambox, I suspect it has something to do with the settings in my computer which runs on Vista. Can anyone help please.

What is your dreambox and PC ip addresses?

Are you going through a router or direct to PC?

Still no joy I've tried filezilla & flashfxp plus every combination I could think of, mainly I get no path to the host. So I still need help.

They can't connect with those IPs

Both devices have to be in the same subnet. You need to manually enter an address into the PC. The PC address you have given is a DHCP one from your provider and is only valid if you are connected to your provider, it is not a private IP.

Sorry, no idea how to set IPs in Vista as I don't use Micro$haft Windo$e.

bring up command propt and use

netsh int ip set address "local area connection" static {192.168.0.101} 255.255.255.0 {192.168.0.254} 1

to change your pc's ip address to one in the same range as your dreambox
