Hi folks,

I'm new to DreamBox...

Just got DM800 SE, but only can watch FTA channels but not others for SG St**h*b. Feeling bad ;(

Is it firmware or key issue?

How to get it works?

What image r u using and why it is not plug n play? U need the keys in order to view the paid channels.

I have 3 images for 800SE for SG, you just have to FTP the keys will do. Comes with latest updated channels and picons.

thank you for your suggestions.
haven't tried your image yet.

my image is names something like that
[email protected]

i finally get it work (display all channels for SG , however some strange symptom appears.

when i cold start (power on), my DM800SE must connected to router thru Ethernet cable. once boot up is completed and starting decoding, Ethernet cable could be disconnected.

if i power off the box, same procedure must apply...

Any idea?

*perhaps i should try one of your images tonight

Backup yr keys on yr box which are located in yr var/keys folder and var/scce folders as well because without these files, u can only view fta channels. Use dreamboxedit to backup yr bouquet.

Mine doesn't have such problem. It will boot as normal.

Right, I worry exactly that when experimenting with different images, the workable 'key' might loss.

Mind to share the web link (tution) on "how to" backup and restore the 'key'? I guess certain tools might be required.

You can do a full backup of yr image in tspanel under the system tools and when u encounter problems, u can then flash the backup image. Download here.

I guess this is the FTP tools

U can use that software to ftp the files from the box to your computer but i am using flashfxp. Here is the guide for using flashfxp.

Thank you so much for all these suggestion and guidelines

My problem is solved last weekend...and surprising it was pretty straight forward, yet strange!

The box is actually searching for a IP address (under DHCP mode) every time after cold start. If it fails to get one, paid channels can't be displayed (on idea why this is so...).

By switching off DHCP mode, randomly assigning an IP address. All my problem is fixed. Everything seems working fine now.
