Problems streaming live tv to a pc

Hi!

I have a Dreambox500 with an enigma image...
I have been trying to stream live TV from my db500 to a pc .
I setup through an ethernet cable to my router and Dloaded 0.8.1 Vlan vlc media player.
I then inputted my db500 IP addy on mozilla firefox 3(with plugins),on my pc.
everything seemed fine...i get the erg and current tv programs & can even change channels(on my normal tv),but the video screen is blank.I can take screenshots of the current channel and everything seems ok.
Any help will be greatfully appreciated as im running out of paracetamol.

Which button to you use to watch the TV. The VLC link or the WebXTV?

The web xtv...i didnt see a link for the vlanplayer.

I installed DV3 and then upgraded to DV4.
All seemed to be fine, then i tried connecting to my DB500c..i can't seem to connect my DB to a network.
I triple checked connection (DB to my router) and my IP and password all seem ok, but again im stuck, can anyone help please?
Or point me in the direction for a guide or tutorial... thanks

have you checked using a ftp program the your box is accepting connections on the specified ip address?

Yes...i used ftp to get the keys off my enigma image before i used dreamup to put the DK1.1 image on last night.using dreamup.
It was a success and all worked fine.
When i start up the dream viewer 4 it says"ERROR No connection to network"
then gives a check list of what could possibly be wrong.
I've been through the list and it still aint workoing
