when i've connected owt up through the laptop using a cross over cable only thing i had to mess with was the laptop, just to bridge the wireless connection with the ethernet connection
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

the dreambox control centre wont pick up the dreambox ip address when it searches for it,

when i go into the dreambox settings it is showing 198.168.0.0 as ip address, that doesnt look rite to me,

when i connect up crossover cable from laptop to dreambox the Local Area Connection Status says "100mbps, limited or no connectivity"

have you any idea what is causing the problem ? is there settings i need to change ?

I think what you can do is to manual assign an ip address for your lan connection, it might help...

i have these settings in the dreambox network settings page

          IP 192.168.0.x
          b) Netmask: 255.255.255. 0
          c) Nameserver: 169.254.106.xxx (pc ip address)
          d) Gateway: 169.254.106.xxx (pc ip address)

are these correct to link dreambox to pc via crossover cable without a router ?
