hi i am struggling to find any info on playing .avi files on the dm5ooc apart from converting the .avi to .ts which is a nightmare due to transfer time and quality, i know i can watch mpeg2 files but obviously avi is the best,ty inadvance...

Hi,

You will need to use the VLC Frontend plugin.
It is available from the downloads section.

If you do a search there are plenty of posts explaining the set up process.
