DM500 A couple of questions about Dreambox 500-C Cable Receiver

I didnt have my eurovox for long before it tuned into a brick and have been looking into purchasing another cable box, the only problem is my internet is slow so a starview probably wont be best

I came across this which is a very decent price Dreambox 500-C Cable Receiver (DM500C) | Dreambox

will this give me all the channels or at least most of the channels I had on my eurovox?

does it need any kind of internet connection or will it play straight through my virgin line?

If anyone can recommend any alternatives that will do what I need and easy to set up I would be very grateful. Thanks

All UK cable now requires cardshare, which means both the cable feed and an internet connection are required for proper function. Unfortunately there are presently very few cardshare sources for UK cable, and even fewer i'd actually trust.

Unless you have a cardshare source already lined up i'd be inclined to forget playing with a dreambox on cable. They are extremely useful boxes for experimenters and tinkerers but presently of little real use for actual program viewing.

without C/S your box standard version will onli receive FTA channels.....carnt go n e deeper thn tht as C/S is of limits.....GOONER4LIFE......if youve still gt ur eurovox which i presume its a dm500c thn why dont u flash an image onto it......dk.v1.1 is user friendly...read the red stickies in cable section to help u flash your box with dreamup and other situtions u myt stumble across hope this helps.....as if you gt it ryt u wil still recieve FTA channels
