DM500 J tag Dream Box 500 S

Hello,

by mistake overlaping two images in my box ( PLi and gemini ) I screwd my box. It is dead now . Only red light in front .

I was advice to use dream up , but on my PC dream upis not working though I have few version of dream up. I am doing with NUll 232 cable , Now some say this is the cable and some say NO this is straight cable ( please see image)
another suggestion was to do J tag .
I need help , where can I find "how to j tag " dream box step by step.
is it ok if I buy J tag cable from E bay to do the job

You need a null modem cable. An Rs232 cable or serial cable will not work.

Dreamup will revive the box, you do not need to JTAG it.

Your PC will need to have a com port. If it doesn't, you can get a usb to serial adapter.

This after noon I got Null Modem cable ( went to market , bought 9 wire cable , end 9 pin female sockets and got it soldered !!! )
It worked for one box but it didd not work for another Dream Box , it went to one step and did not go further !! ( please see the screen shot of Dream Up )

Any further guidance ?

You have network box ticked so its looking for Lan FTP connection instead of Com port connection.
