    web interface

Wondering if anybody can help me! Doing my head in.

Trying to stream dm500 to my laptop -used to be able to access web interface page before, but now for the life of me i cannot!
Checked in expert settings - ip dreambox is correct,
    DHCP - enabled
Netmask is correct for my router.
Namserver and gateway is ip of router.
Enable network is ticked and port is 80.

When i enter ip of dreambox in browser, comes up with prompt for username/password = root/dreambox.
Them i get error 'HTTP 404 Not Found'
    Anyone got any ideas!

I also tried flashing with old back-up image and no difference.
    Thanks in advane

If you are getting the username and password box then it sounds like the connection is there and ip address is correct.

Maybe the http deamon isn't running on the dreambox.

    What image are you using?

      Hi Devilfish,
Thanks for coming back to me, tried first on DW2.1 then reflashed with version 2.0 and still the same thing, the dhcp box is ticked and as you say ip is def correct, must be some other setting that i ~~~~ed up but cannot find it!

Can you telnet onto your dreambox, if you can, type ps -ef and see if the web daemon is running.

Scrap that, if you have the username and password prompt, the web daemon is running. (too many beers last night) reflash it with dk1.1 and see what happens.

Also, would your firewall on the pc be blocking anything?

Must be something to do with firewall, not a top hand at this kind of stuff but will try what I can.

            Cheers

Can anyone tell me what folder i put my cable.xml file in to please?

                T

Eventually got image working, took me a while to find how to start cam(info button - was blue on DW2.0) but i'm def stuck now!
After browsing tonnes of posts, i still cannot figure out how to restore my bouquets from my dw image backed up with dreamboxedit! I have tried 'send file to dreambox' but not sure if i'm selecting the right ones and if the path is correct!
Can i just ftp them to a particular folder?
Must /can i restore them with DBE?

Some help please as i'm not far away from being completely sorted!
                Thanks
                T

Well, sorted bouquet by manually adding them, could not use ones from DW2.1 backups via DBE!
Last thing now is to get it recording to laptop!
                  Happy days!
